Most people wanted to play solo anyway, but couldn't even do that due to the inadequate server capacity.
Citation needed here. Honestly, Diablo is really boring if you aren't playing with other people, it isn't really much of "experience" without loot trading and fighting stuff together. I can't imagine that people wanting to play alone and never use any of the online feature are anywhere close to the majority.
Frankly, I wouldn't have bothered playing it on day 1 if only single player sandboxed characters worked. I would have just waited.
Seems like this would be easily worked around by changing some useragent strings. Not sure why Google wouldn't do that themselves, but I guess they probably care more about their relationship with media companies than I do.
Drug abuse is a social problem and should be treated as such. Dope fiends don't care about lying to their friends and family to score more drugs, why do you think they would care about strangers in Mexico?
The real people who are funding the network of gangs and cartels are those who vote for(or appoint) politicians who support drug prohibition. End of story. The cards are entirely in their hands, dope fiends will get drugs one way or the other.
Seriously if I were going to do something like this no one would have any idea, you wouldn't be able to convince the company paying for it that it was me exploiting known issue, let alone a court of law.
Companies don't have to get their code contributed to the linux kernel to use it. They can very well keep it all to themselves, or not attempt to mainline it while shipping it to their customers. They generally do so because it is to their benefit. Yes, they are going to make contributions that make the most difference in their products and that help their business, but they won't be mainlined unless the changes benefit the kernel community in general. They aren't going to accept patches from Red Hat that do things like "Make Suse slower", but if Red Hat can improve performance in disk controller XYZ and contributes it, then everyone benefits.
(Full disclosure: I am paid to work full time on the Linux kernel.)
Imagine rooting the device and then having it create an ad hoc wireless network for your laptop to connect to, giving you free internet for "life". That sounds a lot better than a few pirated books.
Demigod was produced by the owners of impulse, heh. It also had most of it's issues resolved for people who could forward ports pretty quickly, and is fun as hell. I'd suggest taking another look if you tried before and it sucked.
I mean, I don't doubt that it is unprofessional, but that is a pretty shitty reason not to use a service. Do you actually buy games without knowing what they are beforehand?
So Impulse (http://www.impulsedriven.com/) is like steam, but run by Stardock. Games you buy on impulse don't require it to be running ala games on steam. I don't know how their pricing is for game developers, but they sure seem nicer and friendlier than the big behemoth to me, and I'll always buy a given game on impulse over steam if they have it.
Unfortunately the article doesn't touch on the upcoming Google browser. It is in the works and based on Webkit and a big secret. I know nobody will believe me, but I have real sources, so you heard it here first.
Spammers or not, should we really be celebrating the existence of a crime called "transportation of obscene materials"? That seems a little archaic and irrelevant nowadays...
If you look closer, you can see that there are 14 emeralds, not 7, and 7 of them are bigger than the other 7. This indicates that he is indeed going Hypersonic, not just Supersonic.
Have we all forget about Google's upcoming offering? Unlike Microsoft they have WONDERFUL respect for our privacy.
I can see it now. "Do you have Erectile Disfunction? Try this new creme!"
I need an integrated IDE solution to support the latest JBC and WAJAX 2.1.2 standards, along with full SDJ support. Can this do that?
Seriously, do these flavor of the month java libraries mean anything to anyone?
Like, this is a stupid internet auction. If I was the guy, I would have just sold the aircraft to the guy for the higher amount, and said fuck you to the other guy. Like, I guess he loses his ebay feedback, and some street cred, but what are they going to do? Take the aircraft from the other guy?
I think a rumble motor ala Wiimote would work a little better than the godawful system in place now. A short rumble as you move over each virtual number key I think would make all the difference in the world when you are dialing without looking.
This wouldn't fix any of the other problems, but it would be nice at least for the blind and for in the car. (Perhaps the phone should also have a 'blind mode' where you are automatically taken to the dialing screen when you wake up the phone.)

Too bad the series won't actually be finished since the fat pizza-loving author will keel over before he writes another book.
They aren't even the only ones, Skyfire on android/winmo does this as well.

Github is where it's at.

Err, I said produced, I meant published. I knew GPG were the developers.

Click here to fix it, we promise.
Our DNA has a goddamn registry.

No way I'm supporting them if they are putting this restrictive crap on there. Sorry EA.

Sandbox Sandbox Sandbox
Basically, except it isn't free and only runs on specific hardware.
Looks like it was slashdotted already.
