If I wanted to hook a computer up to my TV I think I'd much rather throw a tiny Mac mini next to it rather than a tower. I think that is the point here. There are certainly other places where the small form factor and quietness shines for the mini.
The Google Talk/AIM integration has been working for me for the past few weeks. I can sign into my GMail and I see AIM contacts in my Google Talk area. I can see their status and chat with them.
I'm guessing that either this only works for enabled accounts or they said "oops" and turned off that functionality for accounts that don't have access to the new UI. I'm guessing that this never activated accounts for the new UI.
It works well with my Dell laptop with a Wireless-G Linksys PCMCIA Broadcom NIC. However, I had to replace the built in firmware to get it working. So, I plugged in and went over to http://ubuntu.cafuego.net/. I went into the feisty-cafuego link and there is a bcm43xx package containing the firmware necessary. I added the repository to Synaptic (I had already executed the command on ubuntu.cafuego.net's home page), refreshed my package lists, selected bcm43xx, and then went into Network Manager to put in my SSID and key. It works great. The only problem that I've been having is that if I shut the lid of my laptop it has problems coming back up. This may be something related to my laptop. I haven't spent the time to figure out what is wrong.
"The folks over at szrachen just put up a great story today, with szrachen claiming the quality of the music on a CD has gone down significantly relative to the consumer music quality index. The szrachen 'Key Facts' page claims that based on the earlier quality of music on CDs, the 1996 quality should have been a lot better. So naturally, you should feel like you're getting ripped off."
It seems that at that point, all the Pirate Bay would have to do is just get enough bananas to make the gorillas happy. They would probably just have to worry about flying poo at that time.
Maybe they'll put in a hack for the DVD remotes that allows you to enter the following to control all 4:
U, U, D, D, L, R, L, R, B, A, Select, Start
They'll just have to add B and A buttons.
As someone who uses Vonage, I don't see this ever happening to me and I don't think that this would be a widespread issue. Personally, I only use Vonage as a replacement for POTS. I only really want a telephone number and caller ID but in order to get that, it costs the same amount as buying a big bundle with every option under the sun. So, I switched to Vonage and disconnected my house from the POTS line (as was advised from somewhere to prevent a fire hazard of some sort... still not sure I believe that). They're not going to get any phone numbers out of my regular phones without tracking my actual phone calls.
Anyways, my point is that I see a lot of people (read: non-geeks) using VoIP in the way that I am by using their regular phones interfaced with a VoIP box. Sure, you may have some people using their computers but I would assert that many people would rather not sit at their computer to talk on the phone with someone.
Then we get to the attack method. How would the attacker answer the phone assuming I was using a piece of VoIP software that the attacker would target to look in the address book of that piece of software and I had an entry of "Bank?" "Hello. This is your bank, how may I help you?" I sure as hell wouldn't fall for that and I would also say that the vast majority of people that might fall for a phishing e-mail or something of that sort wouldn't fall for that either. I would assume that you would have actually called the bank before if you put the bank's number in the speed-dial or address book.
The thing I don't like about it is that I have some fixtures that CFLs will not fit into. This delay is pretty annoying when the regular bulb turns on instantaneously and then the CFL turns on after it's delay. I know, this might still be considered as being "picky" but the fact of the matter is that I don't really feel that I should change a fixture that might cost me four or more times the cost of the CFL which is already more expensive than the regular bulbs that I put in there right now.
If anyone doesn't believe that there is still a delay, then put a regular bulb in a socket next to a CFL bulb on the same switch. You'll see the delay.
The other thing that I noticed is that there doesn't seem to be an exterior reset button. The PS3 was frozen the only time that I actually went up to the thing and said, "Hmmm, let's give this thing a shot." Most of the kiosks that I've seen in the last few years had a reset button so I looked around and didn't find one. That seems like a good way to alleviate some of the freezing issues.
I'm currently using a setup where my DirecTV receiver (an old RCA box from probably 3 years ago) is hooked to my TiVo by a small data cable that looks like a miniature phone cable. They call it the home control cable on the TiVo Accessories Site. It only cost about $7 and it works great!

Wow... I just gotta say nice variation on the 1337 exclamation points.
Just an FYI...

But just how long will it take you to drink that case of beer? Will it last?
Didn't work for me either.

Also, if you want to do subfolders with IMAP as such:
Family/Joe
Family/Joe/DamnForwards
Family/Mary
Family/Mom
Family/Bob
Family/Dad
You just have to create labels exactly like that and your IMAP folders should behave as prescribed.
Didn't these people know that they have to turn their hat around so that they don't break their arms? Sheesh...
Neither Lincoln Hawk nor Bob 'Bull' Hurley could be reached for comment.
Does he need to do that because of this URI Browser exploit? Inquiring minds would like to know.
Er... Wait a minute! Excuse me sir, I believe that you are replying to the wrong story.

I use the right alt with the left arrow key to go back in my browser. I usually use the keyboard when I can...

Wow. This site must have already been slashdotted. Even the DNS servers won't route me there.

Will it allow amputees to effectively "do the robot?"
I theorize that this is the work of Hoggish Greedly. If only Captain Planet could catch him!
They're at it again! Those terrorists have been secretly increasing our CO2 levels! Bomb em!
Yes, sometimes I'll be reading a document and I'll just want to rip it up and set it on fire. Can I do THAT in Office or OpenOffice.org?
I've never heard of Hoover being used in place of vacuum. I don't Hoover the carpet to clean up the coke that I spilled on the carpet. I vacuum it.
Are they looking for snakes?
Just think... What would happen if you were 30,000 feet in the air and there were SNAKES on your plane!?!?!?
Oh, but think of all of the great laughs that would get generated by imposters fooling their buddies.
