Attach rate is meaningless when discussing hardware. Software has attach rates, not hardware. Attach rate is the percentage of console owners that own a specific software title. Example : Wii Sports has a 70% attach rate - that means Wii Sports is owned by 70% of console owners.
Hardware has Tie Ratios. The Tie Ratio tells you the average number of software titles purchased for each console. Example : The Wii U has a tie ratio of 2.1 - that means each Wii U owner purchased 2.1 games on average.
Compare that to the wii tie ratio of ~8, or the xbox software tie ratio of 11+.
Pixeljunk Eden was the first co-op game I got my GF hooked on. Aion was the game that made her a PC gamer though. I tank, she heals. She dresses up her angel barbie and decorates her house when she is not out with me ganking newbs in open world pvp...
I tried many many unsuccessful times to get my GF to play videogames. She is a total freak too, I figured how could she not like video games?
When I first met her she had purple hair, clearly visible skinny puppy tattoos visible through her revealing outfit. Her username on the internet was taken from a Fluke song that was created for a video game; in fact she basically spent all her time cosplaying the mascot for my favorite playstation game, Wipeout. And she loves the band that made the soundtrack for one of all time favorite PC games, Descent II, so much she has their logo tattooed on her body.
How could she not like video games? I don't know, but she didn't like video games in the slightest. She hated them all. Descent "made her dizzy". Wipeout was "too fast". FPS games were nothing but "stupid war games with ugly characters and annoying sounds". She hated videogames so much that she outright said we couldn't be together if I played games. So I had to quit playing video games for a few years.
It wasn't until I got a ps3 to replace her broken DVD player that she changed her mind about the subject. First I got her to play Flower, and she -really- enjoyed it. Then I got her to play Eden with me, since it is co-op. We played it together for hours on end... now we are ranked in the top 25 worldwide in 2 player mode. Then Wipeout HD came out with auto-pilot and motion control features that allowed her to actually enjoy the game. Next I got her Shining Force EXA and it made her cry. She hit level cap (198) in just under 2 weeks.
Then I got her a copy of Aion and showed her how much better PC gaming was then consoles. Now she is widely regarded as one of the best clerics on our server and her services are often requested by the most hardcore raiding guilds in vent. She is still very picky about games, she tends to dislike games that are overly aggressive, not aesthetically pleasing, or are 'too manly'.
>...they don't have to worry about people who break the rules and try to bully others into accepting their rule breaking.
I doubt that - kids that really do stay inside and play video games all day have already seen the worst cheaters, hackers, and trolls the world has to offer. It is hard to maintain faith in humanity when you are constantly exposed to an endless stream of sadistic assholes who enjoy being absolutely the most despicable fuckwads to each other as imaginable.
An AR-15 is black and looks scary, so it MUST be an ASSAULT rifle. And everyone KNOWS assault rifles are MURDER TOOLS. The only thing you can do with one is ASSAULT people with it.
>I imagine that if you could calculate all of the man hours of programming that went into these kinds of people forking every project imaginable, and thinking they can do better (which is normally not the case), that you could have written an entirely new OS with a full application suite by now.
If WoW had permadeath they would not need to make the drop rates so low. People could play through an instanced dungeon 1 time, and if they lived, they get the loot.
I only use facebook to cause drama. The site seriously sucks so hard at everything except making people irate. It is actually pretty good at that though.
> WoW is seriously on the way out... it won't be around in a few years anymore
I agree. As soon as blizzard is finished with their Titan Project, World of Warcraft is over. They will 'prolly keep a few servers around, but for all intents and purposes it will be done fort.
Warhammer 40k is far more dark then normal Warhammer Fantasy, and 40k has a race called the Jokaero; a race of hyper advanced psychic orange-furred apes. Also, dwarf space bikers, called 'Squats'.
The Mechwarrior 5 reboot became Mechwarrior online... and most Atlas pilots in Mechwarrior Online suck. MWO in general however is pure epic win. I personally have not had this much fun since Netmech replaced my nightly visits to Virtual World to play in the Tesla II pods.
In any case, it is the same as it always has been. Noobs will grab the biggest slowest mech they can, group all their weapons and try to alpha people, thinking they have an autowin button. They don't. It's not. I can run circles around an assault in my 35 ton light RVN-X2. And once I am behind an assault, it is very easy to stay behind it, and strip off layers of rear torso armor with lasers and streaks. And once the armor is gone, my twin machine guns will crit internals and its all over. OMG so much fun.
I am not sure that is correct. I owned a device sold as a 'tablet' in 2001; a SonicBLUE Progear w/ 400 MHZ Transmeta Crusoe that ran a custom Linux distro. It was for all intents and purposes functionally identical to the concept of a modern tablet, albeit a very expensive one.
Contrast that to devices sold as 'netbooks', which were not generally available until ~2007. Prior to that there were no subcompact laptops comparable to modern netbooks at any price point.
Citizen-organized militia groups are a paramilitary force as well, but that does not mean they are not comprised of civilians.
The Piston Xi3 Modular Computer, Valve's first Steam box prototype, is on sale right now.
Just in case you and all your friends didn't already know...

I feel for you. All desire for a Playstation 4 was lost the day Sony killed Studio Liverpool. No new Wipeout, no reason for a new playstation.

Some have argued that socialism is the natural evolution of an automated society, brought by the inventiveness of engineer.

So you are saying that Windows 8 is actually worse then Vista?
if it is a long enough spear you could kill DOZENS of people at once, and you NEVER have to reload a spear...

Yes, but it probably wouldn't be a very good OS.
They call it 'psychological armor'.
Am I the only one that read that as Erotic Role Play?
In order for a perma death RPG to be challenging the dungeons need to be extremely hard. See Nethack.

My sources say they are going to call the sequel "Vista 2"

It is a shame too, because WEG star wars was one of my favorite parts about the entire franchises...
That is ok because in the EU old Han Solo is a bit of a lush, having lost his best friend in a tragic fishing accident.

I'm going to also agree, trying them for yourself is the best course of action. Nothing beats well documented hands-on experimentation.
