My point is, there is nothing difficult about jamming GPS. The signal is so weak, especially in these latitudes, that a 100W jammer probably would be enough to jam GPS in the whole country.
In fact, the power output of the actual GPS satellites is just a few hundred watts and they sit way up high with the resulting power loss.

Come on, what ability are you talking about?
Even petty criminals can jam GPS. The signal is so weak you can build a jammer yourself or even order one on ebay if you are too lazy.

  16. Really? In every common law country a court imposes their interpretation of the laws and regulations upon everyone (contrast this with a civil law country where previous court cases can, but don't have to be considered) and a supreme court decision is final and binding. Yet the judges are appointed, not elected.

So why exactly do you have a problem with the european commission - the only appointed body of the european union - even though it cannot actually impose any laws? Their job is roughly comparable to cabinet of ministers, about the only thing they can do with the laws and regulations is proposing new ones to the council and the parliament. Maybe you are the one who are confused?

  17. ORLY? Pray tell me, who exactly elects the supreme court judges?

When I commuted with a bicycle to work I did it all year long, using spike tyres during the winter for additional safety - they obviously have higher rolling resistance, but it is not a big deal.
