    Unless going back to mineral oil, like in old citroens, you still have to change the braking fluid, preferably yearly. Even if the brakes are rarely used.

  9. Actually both .doc and .xls are obsolete formats and have been replaced by .docx and .xlsx a decade ago - these are xml based and compressed as well.

    So by your argument most larger Linux software is broken - just look at the enormous makefiles, inside there is always a huge list for workarounds to compiler quirks before the actual compilation can be started.

    That argument only flies when the Tesla drivers will have to pass a license test comparable in the complexity to the test for a pilot certification and in addition a type rating for the Tesla model they want to drive, need a constantly renewed health check and have to recertify their driving license every two years.

    Call me cold-hearted, but I don't see a big problem there.

    Where I see the problem is that there is a profound lack of non-addictive pain killers in the states. A lot of stuff that is commonly used in Europe is either not FDA-approved or had their approval removed because of some very uncommon side effects. Change that and the only people who overdose would be the ones who are using drugs voluntarily and if they don't care about their lives, why should I?
