I'll be playing this one on the cube as well, and as long as the differences are limited to the control system, I think we'll be ok. We threw the boomerang, flung arrows, and fished just fine with a controller in Ocarina, this one shouldn't be any different. I just really hope they don't try to use the Gamecube version to try to sell me a Wii.

As was mentioned earlier, I'd like to see a breakdown of development costs vs. licensing costs. Who do you think EA has to pay more, their developers, or the massive egos of the 'professional' athletes?

  17. Re:2 things: price / speed, speed / power consumpt on What Went Wrong for AMD's AM2? · · Score: -1, Troll

It was after all AMD that 'broke' the processor naming scheme in the first place. What was wrong with calling their 1439 MHz chip an Athlon 1450? Nooo, they had to call it a 1700. I call that confusing if not downright misleading. Now with the Core chips, Intel follows suit in order to be able to obscure the chips' actual performance.

I don't agree with either of them. Back in the day if you're shopping for CPUs and come across a P3 933, you instantly had an idea of the chips performance, at least enough to say well that's probably a bit faster then an Athlon 750. I'm sure some nitpicking AMD fanboys will argue and say it wasn't, but lets face it 933 > 750. Nowadays you have Athlon FX-XXXXs and Core 2 Duo EYYYYs. Where the XXXX YYYY but the Athlon might be clocked faster. At least the intel chip tries to convey that its a dual core chip with the Duo/Solo thing, but blows that to hell with the 'Extreme' designation.

I immediately noticed this in Oblivion, HDR/no AA looks and performs much better than Bloom/4xAA and even at 16X the image quality didn't impress me. Sure if you're running something at 640x480, AA makes a world of difference, but at 1280x1024, its hardly noticeable and will destroy your frame rate.
