I have a decently large DVD collection. Shortly before subscribing to netflix, I considered picking up a DVD burner and copying all of my Blockbuster rentals (it's the only rental shop near me). Shortly after subscribing, I found that I was no longer interested in owning DVDs. Why? I can have it tomorrow if I want to see it again.
I definitely fall into category 2 right now. I so sick of hearing about spore that can pretty much guarantee that I will not purchase the game if it is ever released. I guess it's one of those shit or get off the pot moments.
It's only debt when you don't pay the bill. I hardly carry cash anymore since everyone takes credit. At the end of the month, I pay my bill in FULL and I get points. The credit card company gets NOTHING in return.
I'll be very upset if they use this system for Fallout 3. I've played through FO1/2 more times than I care to count and thieving is still my favorite activity. There's nothing better than swiping someones weapon, then attacking them.
I LOVE the Fallout series. Having said that, I'm not heart broken that it will not be in isometric. However, I say that they give the gamers the choice between third person, over the shoulder and first person. They do in most modern racing games, so would it really be that much work?
The problem is that they should have been implemented in Half Life 3, not in between episodes. Episodes = short games at a frequent pace. Despite my love for the series, I'll be skipping Ep2 until I can finish the damn game in one sitting. I'm sick of Valve's 'scheduling'.
Wow, so many things that are completely wrong here.
1. Very few people buy $600 video cards. Stating anything else shows your ignorance as a console gamer. The most I personally have spent is $200 on a X1950 Radeon. As a result, I probably will not purchase any more upgrades. I'll wait 3 years or so and purchase an entirely new mid grade system.
2. The PS3 is $200 more. They've already cut production on the low end model. $600-$400 = $200.
3. Most PC gamers scoff at the idea of paying a monthly fee for online gaming. MMORPGs are the exception.
No one denies that the PS3 is an impressive piece of machinery. However, like myself, many do not see it as a good RoI.
There's a slight difference between protesting at a political rally and protesting at a funeral. If the protesters are trying to show their distaste for war, there are any number of monuments to choose from or they could stage one outside the Whitehouse.
"Public speech on public property or on the speaker's own property should be unconditionally protected."
I strongly disagree. There are circumstances (fire in a crowded room) that limit your freedom of speech. I think the determining factor is if your free speech is going to incite intentional or unintentional (but foreseeable) violence.
I find it particularly disgusting that people would protest something as personal as a funeral.
A bit OT, but I assume you're referring to people protesting at funerals. If so, wouldn't it be easier to simply arrest the protesters for disturbing the peace? I would assume that there would be tension with the possibility of violence. Seems to fit the DtP better than most of current uses.
I certainly agree that HD-DVD and Blu-Ray are better looking that a standard DVD. I also agree that discs are more convenient and flexible in their usage. Having said that, I still like to imagine that we'll all eventually have 'fat pipes' and the ability to stream HD media.
I think most moderate people realize that the majority of Muslims are decent people. Having said that, I think the big problem that the Muslim community faces is perception. If a large portion of the community spoke out against the violence that we see on a daily basis, people would be far more accepting. Could it be that silence is seen as the community condoning violence?
"You don't have a nice HD setup if you think an up converted DVD looks as nice as anything on Blu-ray and HD-DVD. "
I'm sorry, but you come off as a real elitist prick here. Whether you are or not, you're obviously willing to jump to the conclusion that everyone else is moron if they don't hold to your opinions. For the record, I have a Pioneer Elite 930 with an Onkyo 7.1 system. I'm feeding it Dish Network HD and a Toshiba upconverting DVD player. I realize that it's not the supreme master setup, but I'm happy with what I have. As to my reason for not bothering with the new generation of players, I'm simply not interested at this point. I get most of my HD programming off my dish and I have netflix to supply my movies. I MAY look at buying a new player when the prices fall below $100, but there really isn't a huge incentive. Physical media gets damaged and destroyed. I'd much rather have a media server, but I expect that we'll eventually have enough bandwidth that the MPAA will realize they can sell licenses and stream movies over the net.
And then you have people like me who are sick of buying new physical media. I have a nice HD setup with an up converting DVD player. Having said that, I will NOT be purchasing either of the new players.

If you've had to card for a period of time (one year?), you're able to call and request a limit hike.

Religion is the excuse, not the reason. Stupid people will always fear change.
From who? I have the choice of AT&T or nothing. What I want is a real competitive market.
Some of us are stuck in SBC/AT&T land where Comcrap refuses to compete.
I guess I'm a little dull this morning, but it seems like he already paid taxes on the vegetable oil. It's not a fuel tax, but he was taxed.

It's not a matter of being able to afford it. It's a matter of perceived value.

Under and over. There was actually an ingame flight spell. We used to play RotT tournaments in the school computer lab.

Actually, the PC is still the best for HD gaming in my opinion.
I appreciate it.
Ah. Thanks anyways.
I would really appreciate it if someone paste the article text since I'm suck behind a filter.
Fallout 2 fixed MANY of the issues that were seen in Fallout 1. Truthfully, I really don't see any show stopping issues with either game.
