As far as their humanitarian work, I think Bill wins easily for the simple reason is that he has and donates more money.

An AI in Odyssey 5 quoted Buckaroo Banzai as saying "(Hey, hey, hey. Don't be mean. We don't have to be mean because, remember,) no matter where you go, there you are." {I found the quote....}- to Chuck Taggart?

That's very interesting. Buckaroo Banzai (Peter Weller) circa 1984 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086856/ also played a rock music scientist and did in fact make a very similar comment. I do know that the Banzai fanbase probably had something to do with the 2002 Odyssey 5 quote!

  10. Re:What about going to heaven? on Doctors Claim Suspended Animation Success · · Score: 1

    OK.
I'm a Christian and I've studied comparative religion.
In that discipline, life is based on the old testament concept that life begins when you were born or created: as Birth=Creation and NOT as we know it scientifically today that life begins at conception.
Also, being Christian, it is the new testament that makes a christian a christian. It was the birth of Jesus that was heralded and not his conception. All life in the womb is powerless.
Astrologers (Chaldians - the 3 wise men of Magog), also (in my opinion) make the same 'error'. Shouldn't conception be the mark of life when planetary bodies influence and predestine everything from birth to death? There are many cultures that accept conception as part of the birth cycle.

One does not ascend to heaven when you are dead. The soul ascends to heaven via purgatory or hell if required, but eventually to heaven as all creatures will be. This will happen soon after true death, which may be hours or even days (hindu/buddhist/shaman worldviews) after apparent death.

"Why they believe that one who has no brain activity but body life might still be considered alive on this earth."
Since, as all Western cultures are based on the old and/or new testaments, there is no death of the soul. The soul may inhabit a corporeal body (its own) until it cannot any more. No-one alive with any credibility can state when a soul has left the body, especially in this day and age and lack of faith. So it is Christian to maintain life, even though the brain is dead as the soul may still be there.

Doesn't matter what shape the Earth is. The reason for why things fall to the ground was worked out by Aristole over 2000 years ago. You see, he said that the reason for why things fall to the ground is because that's where they're supposed to be. If you lift something off the ground, it is not natural for it to be suspended. When you let go, it falls to the ground! Simple really.
Birds fly because they are meant to- they have wings!

It's been known for 1000's of years (Egyptian) and confirmed in the modern day that our sun revolves around Sirius.
The precis of this book is just one of hundreds that misinterpret anthropological data and folklore into some kind of modern cosmology.
For instance, according to Gurdjieff, we have 2 moons orbiting the Earth. Have we found it yet? Was he talking of some kind of dark matter asteroid??? Who knows.
The only thing that is certain is that NASA/ESA have not found it, yet many followers of Gurdjieff believe this as a fact.
Also, just because it gets rave reviews in LA doesn't add credibility.

I was thinking that the lenses you have used should create a focused image on the glass? If so, does the image cover the whole area of the glass or just a portion of it?
Is the focussed image large (A4 size for eample)?

What if you use the scanning engine from a slide scanner? This way the scanner-camera would be physically much smaller and yet achieve comparable resolution? (and would probably scan faster when required).

The fact that pisses me off is that this post is the 570th or thereabouts and will probably not be read by anyone, but I will continue.

The theory of evolution has been challenged by another theory of Intelligent Design.
Almost all of you have NOT understood what intelligent design theory is and what evidence their proponents have that Evolutionists cannot explain!

That is the real question, and till it is answered, Intelligent Design still has life, gnawing at the roots of Evolutionary theory.

Don't confuse creationism with ID (although it is easy to do).
    Don't bring God into it.
Don't interpret Intelligent Design nomenclature as a description of the evidence, but rather as an attempt to explain the evidence.
Try and answer the evidence as an evolutionist.

If you can do all of that, then you have something worthwhile to say.

    Suck on that!
