They won't listen to you because people keep buying the game. Unless you can get a significant chunk of the gaming population to do the same thing you are, they won't listen.
I guess it's neat that they're doing this. But if wanted a computer and I only had $12, I'd just find one on Craigslist. There's usually a Pentium type computer on there going for cheap.
Anyone with more knowledge explain this to me

What's the point in putting the GPU on the same die as the CPU? Doesn't it just then get access to slower main memory vs. a discreet video card with faster memory? Motherboards won't have on-board video anymore? This is all rather confusing.
(2) "Designers" who can't code have absolutely no business "working" in software. If you think you really know how an interface should work and look, then learn to code it. Otherwise, you're just a critic of the kind that the NYT doesn't hire.
I'm going to take issue with this. Basically you're saying if you can't do X, then your critique is useless.
Just because you can't sing doesn't mean you can't critique other people's singing. Just because you don't know how to make a car doesn't mean you can't critique that horrible dashboard layout.
Which is kind of intersting. I bought the previous generation of this type of mini-ITX board (D201GLY2) that came with the Celeron 220 (Conroe-L based and a SiS chipset for some reason), and it draws 40 Watts at idle (with only a harddrive attached). They're definitely pairing the Atom with the wrong chipset if the power draw is that high.
You should look at the chart more carefully. That MIPS chip is situated between 2 Athlon Thunderbirds, which are 32-bit machines on an integer-based benchmark. I'd like to see an FPU-based benchmark. Plus those Athlon cpus were a lot less expensive than the MIPS 16000 cpus used by SGI.
Looks like they're using human cells in mice. And they're not using stem cells. Of course, the other way in humans to do this is to do aerobic excercises. A wife of one of my bosses apparently had complete blockage of her main coronary arteries. She's around 50ish and had basically been walking around like that for many years before any symptoms arrived. Hooray for collateral blood vessels!
How did this get modded insightful? Where can I buy a Mac with OS 9? OS 10.2? 10.3?
Where can I buy a car without all these side airbags?
Where can I buy a cellphone that only makes calls and nothing more?
Does this also apply to Compactflash cards that are used as harddrives? I was thinking of doing that instead of buying these more expensive SSD devices.
Truly. But this applies to practically any company. You could say the same about most of Apple's iprograms.
It probably won't without WINE since you're directed to download and run an .exe file for viewing and creating your own.
Speak for yourself. I, for one, did not read the article...
It's just another form of taxation. I don't want my tax dollars going towards the "war" but it's going there despite the fact.
Well, different strokes for different folks...
That's Apple's problem. Not yours and not mine.

That's because the clone hardware was better and faster and much less expensive.
Yes
Man, this Katzer person seems to be the biggest A-hole ever. The only thing worse would be if he'd murdered his wife...
Microsoft also gives you their compiler for free too. You still have to pay for their IDE.
True enough. If anyone ever remembers the old IBM PC ads with the Charlie Chaplin-look alike vs. the later PS/2 It! ads...

Ok, now find me a mini-itx board with this ARM chip you speak of for about $70. Otherwise, there's no point in bringing this up.

It's not 2W, but the new Intel Atom boards let you do that in about 30W (4W for the processor itself).
But what if the only pill form that works is a jagged little pill? I'll take the needle thanks.

Microsoft?

Uh, more like bringing those technologies mass produced at a somewhat more reasonable price today. Those Onyx cards cost as much as a car back then.
