    Actually, I have far more trouble with Legitimate programs than I do with pirate software. For instance, my friend's mom's version of NOD32 (legal!), somehow became unregistered, and I had to jump thru hoops to find the passwords again. Meanwhile, my pirate version works just fine.

    Actually, they "throttle" BitTorrent traffic all day long, all night long. I could have my computer log the RST packets if you'd like. I have iptables set to block rst packets on my bittorrent port.

    I would like to point out that after my mother died (when I was ten), I had someone say something along the lines of "who gives a fuck" to me... I did take offense to it. After growing up a bit, and learning a bit about the first amendment, I've come to realize that it's their right to say that. HOWEVER, it is also my right to bitch about the fact that they say it. So, Good for you for exercizing your rights! And good for whoever tagged this story "whogivesafuck", for exercizing your rights as well. If we all exercized our rights a little bit more, maybe people in the US wouldn't be offended so easily.

    do you know the reason for AUS telcoms having to be metered?

    Its because theres only so many fibre lines going to AUS and the bandwidth is limited. Well, that USED To be the problem. now its just that they've got you all locked into that mindset that you've got no problem with it. However, the USA has far more Fibre lines connecting us to the rest of the world, and the bandwidth was never very limited. Notice, that while the USA is going towards pay-per-gb, the EU is going the opposite way towards unlimited.

    See the problem here?

    God no, I have XP Tablet edition. The little thing is amazing really... i use it constantly just for browsing the web even at home. But i've been using it for word processing with a rollup keyboard. I like being able to carry my kit in my pockets

    Actually, instead of comprimizing, I have a 15" laptop, and a Samsung Q1Ultra (7" screen)... you'd be amazed what you can get done on a 7" 1024x600 screen... especially when the battery life is 3:30 even when working hard. I even have a NDS with the browser rom so If all i need is to check my mail, i just pull that out.

    Also, the samsung is great if you wear cargo pants and find yourself constantly needing a computer for something or another. it fits in the cargo pocket. it was great when i went to the wild game with it. had something to do durring breaks.

    I've actually started refusing to bring things with me. There is NO reason I should be working at home and at work. Granted, there are times I'll bring it home just because I'm sick of hearing the boss bitch in the office, so I'll go home and work.

    Also, thankfully, my other boss realizes that with our job, if we've got downtime, we've done our job correctly. When something goes wrong, thats when we earn our money by working our balls off.

    if i remember correctly, MemoryStick is just SD in a different case, with 2 pins changed. then again, i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure its only 2 pins.

    technically, you could just burn them to a "cd image" with Daemon Tools, then rip them from that, then remove the image file :) tada, no burner needed!

    I used to write programs to show my work, because I was sick of dealing with listening to the teacher complain about me not showing my work.
    I see it this way: If I understand the equation enough to write a program to show all the work, with near 100% accuracy on the work part, its not cheating. Now, if I gave the program to a friend, then He'd be cheating. Same if I downloaded it off the net.

    PS: TI-86 had better games than the old GameBoys, sometimes. and if you really knew what you were doing, you could keep them even after a teacher rips your batteries out in an attempt to erase your memory.

    Chances are, the RST packets you were sent were from comcast's sandvine. They send one to both ends of the connection, to make it look like the other closed the connection.
