    I believe if you use https://gmail.google.com/ (note gmail instead of mail) your whole mail session is always encripted and not the login page only.

    According to this poster those who chose GPL are like pot smoking idiots who just pick a license because the next door idiot did it...yet their code are better or more useful than the intelligent and thinking BSD license choosers.

    If somebody provide you something with a license use..it with that license or don't use it....don't go impugning the intelligence of the licensor if you don't like the license he/she chooses. That's nasty.

    Interesting point but if pure capitalism is to be used always we would not have been on the moon...or sending exploratory satellites to Mars and beyond...I don't see any private investors doing that yet.
    University research would not exist or teachers would not be allowed to teach.
    I am diverting....the point if there is the drive government projects can work like landing on the moon and for medicine a more humane system than pure patent and IP driven model can and must be found.

    Its no joke to people dying of AIDS without being able to afford IP'ed drugs...

    There must be a limit of decency over application of IP protection...

    This is life and death situation and people want to apply a business model like developing engine of cars to it.

    A GPL kind solution has to be found otherwise its inhumane.

    Why is it India's responsibility only ? Why is it the responsibility of India to feed Indians ...oh just because you were born in a different country gives you the right to throw away resources. Who gave you this right ? the Indian scientists and the army is just doing what Europe and USA is doing consuming a lot of resources per capita. Be oblivious as much as you can !

    good point... Yes like say Einstein learnt from previous knowledge ...from Galileo, Mach etc etc these were investments in his developing relativity and assume he blocked it with a licensing scheme...imagine how backwards physics would have been today ! investors shmestors... there is a middle point between stifling innovation and promoting it !

    Remember the flooding of New Orleans and the economic class that we suddenly found to exist in the USA. guess what the fraction of the US population is like that ( I live in New Mexico, yes its a state of the USA and its 3rd world in many places).....way to go leader of the civilized world ! All i was saying is that there are ~260 million people in india that get a better yearly pay than the poor souls that got greeted by Barbara Bush in the Houston Dome. I was just disputing the posting of the parent claimimg that 99% cannot buy a computer in India where as in the West every body can afford one...I am not defending the terrible economic disparity that exists in India or the USA.or in the world for that matter

    To use your analogy of a car with crank or not...you know you can make some circuit that ckecks on the speed of the car, and time it out the headlight...for example. Yes most linux distribution have been rough and the reason is because the people that did develop stuff did not (or want) work on feel and look that much Try ubuntu for example ...you'll be surprised what can be done when some little thought is put to ease the use and work on look and feel.
