I work as the tech guru in a office which is all Macs. Despite me telling them long before that Macs weren't vulnerable to the Y2K they still freaked out as the date approached, and lo and behold, nothing happened. woo hoo
In related news, Microsoft patented the act of inhaling oxygen and exhaling co2. A judge has issued an injunction against breathing for everyone until the case is resolved.
its in orion's sword, not sure if an exposure long enough to get a shot of the galaxy would streak due to the rotation of the earth, also have to take magnification and film type or sensetivity of digital camera into account, not as easy as the original post makes it out to be
This was predicted by BodhiCat when Bush II first announced the "moon program. " Its just a way to take funding from the space station and planetary probes and budget for the "moon program," then cancel the "moon program" and reduce NASA's funding. Boo Obamba for continuing the short-sighted policies of Bush II.
The whole Bush administration Moon and Mars programs were just smoke and mirrors to shift funding away from the Space Station and other NASA programs, then cacel or push back the Moon and Mars missions. NASA put too many eggs in once basket with the poorly concieved Space Shuttle program and we are now paying the price with no good booster to get humans into Low Earth Orbit. I only hope the Obama administration has the imagination to keep the Space program growing in ways that are productive and that help spur the economy. What is the U.S. going to get more out of in the long run? An active space program or planting trees along a highway?
Most arguments for Creationism hinge on the premise that complexity implies a divine creator. The conclusion of the argument, that a divine creator "made" everything is contained in the premise. They are just begging the question.
Maybe instead of requiring schools to teach the supposed faults in evolution theory, they should teach the big fault in religion; that something exists (God) but you can't hear, see, smell or touch it. Religion has far more faults in it then Evolutionary Theory.
I wonder how many people bought convert boxes when they have a digital ready TV already? Digital ready TV's have been sold for at least the last 5(?) years. Also, most cable, including Comcast, will still be available for analog TV's. Most of this is just paranoia from the news media.
The hippies clained that the wi-fi network caused "headaches, dizziness, nausea, severe tiredness, brain fog, disorientation, loss of balance, inability to concentrate, loss of creativity."
Coincidentally the wi-fi became active at the same time as the local harvest of Glastonberry Green. Should we blame the wi-fi??
The structure of a government body or an electoral process is a technology.
If the Electoral College process is a technology, then maybe someone should patent it, and refuse to license it to the U.S. Government. We would have to then elect our presidents directly, avoiding another 2000-like fiasco. Of course all the TV commentators with their red and blue maps would be out of a job.

They just need to get the price point of electric cars in line with what the average consumer can afford. Until that happens they will be a luxary item and won't be selling in the numbers that we need to get off our hydrocarbon addiction.

Well, there is Enterprise. ha ha ha
is there a difference?
With all the cuts in funding to NASA, maybe its time for the US to join the European Space Agency and stop duplication of effort.
sorry, its in the constellation pegasus, its another nebula, not a galaxy this time, that's in the sword

That explains why the state government that I work for is so screwed up. Too many bad PowerPoint presentations.
Everyone knows that the real cause of global warming is the decline in the number of pirates. Global Temperature vs. Number of Pirates
Yes, and it was Glofindel riding the horse that saved Frodo, not that Half-Elf Princess
Karl Edward Wagner's Kane, one of the most overlooked anti-heroes in scifi/fantasy. Bloodstone is one of the best fantasy novels of all time.

At least Kathrine Harris is not involved in the Iranian election. She is bad enough with make-up, could you imagine her without it?
I for one welcome our Intense White Light Overlords.

Yes, Majel will always be Number One to me!

And since the German waiters/waitresses didn't go to school under the "No Child Left Behind" progam they can actually do long division.

Almost Jetsons style
