    Yeah....

That's not gonna happen. Due to living out in the country, with not caring about having it at release, I just order from Amazon. Forty minute drives to the nearest store for anything other than food isn't really worth it for one or two items that ship for about the same travel cost (less after the gas tax hike most likely).

As for games, I sold a used copy of Resident Evil on eBay for $25, and didn't pay much more than that to get it used online. So it's easy to get around if you know the method to cheap shipping (yellow envelopes with bubble wrap built in.)

Nope, my parents still have that. Though a forced change may be coming soon as the basic digital package now costs the same $70 as the Basic Expanded one they have without the set top box. So they may have to get one soon. Then again, there would be no way to connect more than one TV without a card/set top, but suspect they want the extra $5/m per device.

Red Dead Redemption is one of those long games that has replay value. We still play "highest bounty longest" games to see how long we can survive. The ability to go back to any mission to try for gold helps add some challenges (a bit of cheating not using the Gatling guns as we are much faster on the rifle.) If we care about the character AND want to shoot some of the NPCs in the head from the start of the first cut scene THAT is good story telling.

There are games that have too many cut scenes, and too many forced "press this random button" cut scenes. I tend to stray away from those. Since I don't feel like I'm actually contributing to defeating the bad guy in those.

She only knew the big farm meals from her childhood. The meals that were meant to fill out the calories from farm labor. Now my portions are smaller to reflect my activity. So I really think the large part of the problem was the multiple shifts in lifestyle that occurred at once. Restaurants can be blamed too. Look at pictures of a burger and fries meal in the forties or fifties compared to today. They're absolutely huge.

Hell, the amount of money they save me (World of Warcraft too) because I can put the few good cable shows in the queue is more than enough. I have to agree, and that's the reason some consider it smart not to attend college unless it's an in state school. There are a few around here that can get you a BS for $5K a year in tuition. If you are in your last year or two, even less if you take only the one or two needed classes (~$300-$400 per class.)

So it shouldn't be a call not to go to college, but rather not to do it out of state. Most middle class kids, or lower, can qualify for subsidized Stafford loans. Loans that are far more forgiving on interest, and have more forbearance options.

Since going back to school on a full grant at a community college for a different degree, something odd is going on. I've had several teachers that were better than than private four year school, and cared more.

The head of business and info tech at mine is a retiree that does some classes part time for the extra cash. So it's not the case of those that can't do teach with all. That adage my be true at times, but not always.

So the quality of the school depends on it's location. To be honest the good state four year school is not the main university, but the one that looks a bit run down (that also lacks tenure so they can hire good professors with the savings by not spending millions on a pretty entry way that has zero purpose.)

Making my preference is for the PS3. I grew up on both of those, so the controls/interfaces are the things I'm most familiar with. Though I'm now leaning towards OSX after the Vista fiasco, and the fact I'm not much of a fan of Windows 7.

I've seen Direct TV dishes spring up all over, and once we looked into it noticed the elevation for DISH was terrible up north(barely over the tree line ~200-300 yards away.) So that's likely one reason they don't get as many customers(at least those that LOOK at that information before buying.) We are middle income, but we followed with the lower income people in town. I mean less than $60 a month for much better offerings than the now $70 a month BASIC cable options. To get some of them we would have to spend $150 a month(the decent channels like Nat Geo Cox moved to digital lineups to force upgrades.)

So yeah, I can see the point of "There are other cable companies?" in the way that most are pulling the same crap.
