I know it's a tenuous link at best... but this game really reminds me of "EVO Search for Eden" which was an old game on the SNES with a similar concept... You start out as a fish, and you eat smaller animals to gain points, you then use these points to evolve your character. The game went through several stages (Fish/Dinosaur/Bird etc) and was great fun! Hopefully SPORE will be just as - if not more -fun!
Sorry from the title of the artical I had an odd image in my mind of a little rat brain in the pilots seat of a 747 wearing a little pilots hat... and the co pilot was a piece of cheese for some reason...
I like the idea... it would be like the translators from star wars... but this has me worried:
"During the demonstration, the speaker had electrodes attached to his face and his neck, but the researchers think that these electrodes could be implanted into your mouth and your throat in a decade from now -- if you agree of course."
I would rather have a small hand held device than something implanted in my throat...

Geeze... this is only going to get worse before it gets better... and it's been getting worse for 10 years...
Very VERY impressive! The length did in no way bother me as what was in the lost coast was absolutly amazing! The tone mapping thing which simulates how the eyes react to light was espesially impressive.
I hope they use these new features in the upcomming HL2 expansion...

They just had to "pretty up" the hoard didn't they... Personally I would have liked to have been able to play as the burning legion... hated and against both factions (Hoard and alliance) they could have been a cool addition... but then most people just call me an idiot and tell me to "Shutta the hell up".
Other than that the new expansion looks amazing and I can't wait for it to come out!
I loved the origional GTA game...
I remeber getting it on the pc when it first came out, then GTA2 came out and I was hooked to it...
Problem is I don't really like the new games... maybe it's because I'm a retro fiend and liked the cool "top down" view.
In a way it's good that a director can go back to their film and put bits in that they had orgionally intended to be in the movie, but as with star wars they have to be careful that the don't alienate existing fans...
My my microsoft in hot water again... what a supprise!
Microsoft has so much bad PR now that they may ass well just release "Windows Virus Edition" and just get it all over with!
