Nintendo have enough high quality console releases (including retro games) to keep me busy for some time. But then I don't really enjoy mobile games in general because of their restrictive practices where you can only do certain activities X times per day. Typical of F2P games, unfortunately Nintendo still implements this scheme on their $10 Mario game. No thanks. I do appreciate their skill-based approach to gaming rather than the typical min-max grind but still there is much better for much cheaper available on their Virtual Console, where games start at $5 and have much more content than their mobile offerings.
Ever since they added commercial breaks to youtube videos I have been doing anything I can to find alternate methods of viewing the same content, such as visiting the content creator's site directly and using their own video player. Often they don't use YouTube on their own site. Even if I do want to view the content, if I have to sit through an ad I automatically just think "forget it" and close the tab. I'm just sick of unskippable video-based ads.
I guess you haven't played Dark Souls 3, Fallout 4, Forza Horizon 3, Overwatch, Doom, Hitman, XCom 2, etc. A game that tried to go in this direction, The Order 1886, was heavily criticized for doing so. Not sure if it's as bleak as you make it out to be.
It did for me. I went from thinking "what do I *want* to do," something constructive with positive possibilities, to wondering "when is there going to be something else for me to look at," a more passive and constantly wanting state of mind with no real state of satisfaction.
I stopped all that and limit my online actvities and am much happier. The obsession of keeping up with various newsfeeds and comments is crap IMHO.
No. I get no add-ons and still have these issues. Especially on mobile where if you have more than 3 tabs open something's going to reload, so if you were typing something in and doing reference in other tabs you risk losing everything you were typing. They don't cache the text boxes.
It feels like any hardware/software decisions they make with Macs have been alienating pros... Taking forever with significant hardware refreshes, non-modular hardware design, elimination of useful ports and connectors, Final Cut Pro X
They are nothing exciting, just iterating on what works. I don't feel like the rug is yanked out from under me with each major update as I have in the past with other OSes and some other distros. Thanks Mint team.
I'd honestly rather go back to one of the many Mario titles I missed over the years or pick up one of the Virtual Console full Mario games for about $5-$8 instead.
Sure it looks good for a typical autorun game but that's not a very high bar, and the genre is already driven into the ground.
If everyone is so disappointed then why are the new Macbooks sellingsowell?
I saw a story on slashdot a while ago claiming Mac users were switching to Linux as well.
It just sounds like hardware manufacturers are trying to cause doubt to get more sales, because the reality doesn't seem to show that people are switching away from Macs given they are selling so fast.
BTW no I don't allow browser or youtube or anything online. They really have no need to go online and I have some of their favorite movies/shows loaded on the tablet anyway and switch them out for new ones regularly (charlie & lola, mr rogers, sesame street, etc)
There are no games with any interesting online functionality so far anyway, but we haven't gotten into Minecraft yet. I got that on PS3 from the bargain bin though and I assume that works fine offline. If the kids want to play with friends we invite them over (or go to the park to find new friends), no need to go online.
I've got a ton of apps from Babybus, Toca Boca, Russpups, Rovio, PBS, and many others that work just fine offline, there's about 80 games on the tablet that work great and I am constantly finding more. I have updates set to manual and only download updates if something is broken. If a game doesn't work due to lack of connectivity, I delete it. I always preview the apps first so no disappointments.
I have NoRoot Firewall to block access to individual apps so when I do go online to get games, individual apps still can't connect. When done I switch to Airplane mode. Apps that do use internet for ads and such seem to gracefully accept that no connection is possible.
Powershell has been used to carry out tasks, but we're not talking about PowerShell being exploited here. A pre-existing problem (be it an exploit used to deliver the script, or an ID 10 T problem) would have had to manifest, and you still need to escalate privileges to do something other than a temporary infection or encryption/ransom of the current user account.
Many of their charity gifts and settlements were in the form of MS software, hardware, training, and support contracts

So if internet access is a basic service, logically by extension their ISPs should be considered common carriers?

Is it really an AI when it just responds directly to commands? AI implies some kind of dynamic response... Not precalculated and preprogrammed
Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World, 2 of the best Mario titles, are regularly $5 on the 3DS and Wii and Wii U consoles.
It would be a lot more than $60

...or will it be regional for some reason like Netflix?
When talking to the chatbot be sure to move away from the mic to breathe in.

My kid is very happy with his setup.
Sounds as bad as Coleco Chameleon
That won't work for the kids, who use a tablet that's not allowed to access the internet
I'll wait for whenever it is the most convenient/cheap for me. I don't care if that means the content has to get old first.

Ditching their bread and butter for foreign territory? Sounds risky but also sounds like MS needs to take* more risks.
* and stick with!!! no rebranding, no flash in the pan then extinguishing zune/band/kin/etc
Has MS not heard of this? You won't need to fumble with sims or have multiple asubscriptions.. This is already solved.
I feel a transition coming for the low end... Wonder how Intel feels?
