If you let your people do whatever they want, some of them will do things you don't like. Try managing them, if you're not sure how, you can find classes at most colleges.
The fire in the crowded theater analogy doesn't work here. When someone is informed of a fire, they act out of self-preservation at the lowest level.
People choosing to view this video and then reacting violently have not been fooled into desperately saving their own lives.
They are technically and politically inferior and they use sleazy sales tactics. It's an ignorant choice to use them exclusively for dns or any critical service and expect perfect uptime.
It strikes a "major emotional chord" if a computer can handle some exam better than students?
Does it strike a major emotional chord with a sprinter if a car can beat him in a race?
Their plan is to advertise the most, so every idiot who decides to create a site on a whim chooses them. Complete the deal with insanely cheap promotional pricing. Then count on them being unwilling to face the technical challenge of switching to a reasonably priced host before their plan recurs at a heavily inflated price.
The original PSP was the most capable portable device, so it was widely owned and hacking it actually meant something. With the proliferation of capable IOS and Android devices PSP's seem far less important.
everyone should simply start filing takedown notices on every single thing they find on the net anywhere until the hosting companies realize that it is a total mess
Yes, insightful indeed! We need to ditch conventional TV. We should invent a way to connect computers so just about anyone can publish just about any type of content. We could create an advertising program that would use context to serve ads, so that way advertisers could reach niche audiences easily by choosing which context to be included in.
The other thing I've found useful thing about Team Viewer is that it can be setup to run like a service. I've set this up when I was visiting family members so we didn't have to deal with having them set it up.
Also the control from Android is the best implemented solution I have found from that OS.
The biggest annoyance is the popup asking you to play fair at the end of every session. "It's asking me to buy the license, should I click yes??"
If it's me in charge of the software, I'd omit the feature and most likely never implement it.
The most obvious solutions would be to prompt the user before modifying the file, but considering the target argument that is not realistic.
I can't think of any sufficiently reliable way to protect against rogue entries here automatically since they essentially look the same as intentional ones. Maybe there's a way I'm not thinking of.
Since it's base software included with the OS, it should be solid for a very high percentage of users, not simply ok for most people.
This seems like one of those situations where someone didn't think of the potential side effects. The goal was to fix some attack on specific sites, but the solution failed to consider that the mere presence of entries like Facebook is not enough to determine of the entry is in fact malicious and/or unintended.
Security and expected behavior is compromised in too high a number of situations to use this software imo.
The auto industry has abandoned safety for shiny tech and high mpg. Distracting and difficult to use controls and my personal pet-peeve, low rolling resistance tires, which add significantly to stopping distances.
Why would I bother enabling this hardware and wasting battery. I used my $10 free from Google Wallet to buy a 6-pack and then disabled NFC. I'll re-enable it when/if Google restocks my account with free money.
At least in my town there are some awful restaurants that have all the negative reviews "Filtered" and receive good ratings, above legitimately good restaurants.
I've found the reviews on tripadvisor.com to be more trustworthy.

Unless I'm navigating, I leave the GPS powered off. I suppose this software will require GPS always on. Not sure how that will work out.

I'd rather they learn nothing than learn enough to fancy themselves ready to talk shop with a real programmer.
