  3. Re:Same tired argument on Hunting the Mythical "Bandwidth Hog" · · Score: 1

Comcast isn't/wasn't lying by saying I have unlimited bandwith. It put a new rule in that stated 250g was my limit. Ok no problem I've not hit a 200g mark in quite a while so it's not usually an issue for me. NOW the fuckheads at Comcast also want to throttle me if I use 100% of my line speed for 15 minutes.

What the fuck? Can I actually download at full speed now? Well sure I can if it's under X amount. Anything over it and the brakes go on. I totally have no issue with a drop in line speed if my connection is hurting others, to drop my connection just because it's being used is beyond fucked up. And it's very apparent that I in no way am hurting them. "there are 15 houses on my street and 11 Att wireless routers. So how is my node going to go over capacity? Apparently everyone on my street is on AT&T. "I have fiber to my door and not a single provider will use it to provide me similar capacity as Cable." I really don't have any options that are comparable.

  4. PigPen on Scientists Say a Dirty Child Is a Healthy Child · · Score: 1

When I was a kid and even into my teens I rarely was ever clean during the day. I just assumed dirt was a part of life.. I showered/bathed regularly but did not clean up all day long. I was seriously in the running for a pigpen award because I was always dirty.

I'm 43 and I've had one antibiotic in my life and it was in the last year. I don't harass my kids to stay clean just to keep the dirt mostly outside hehe. I do believe it's important as you are young to be exposed to the elements and interact with them. I'm in an area where Valley Fever "Coccidioidomycosis" is a serious problem yet no one in my family has ever had it. My dad was a farmer/ranch hand and we lived and breathed dirt. Even into my 30's I ran graders/loaders etc with open cabs.

I miss about 2 days annually with a cold or flu because when I do get sick it hits me hard. My body heals fast I've had numerous open wound injuries and never had any issues with infection. So yea. Let your kids loose let them get filthy. It won't hurt em and it will likely strengthen their immune system.

  5. Re:Does anyone use these? on Dell Rugged Laptops Not Quite Tough Enough · · Score: 1

I can say from experience that nothing I've used yet lasts like a Toughbook. Of course we use them in some pretty harsh environments. These are what we use to configure multiple devices on the side of the road. From sprinkler systems to signal lighting. Our Surveys group uses them for field surveying. I've got machines that have been used so badly they barely hold together yet still boot up and run.

We've yet to break a Toughbook. We generally replaced due to our normal replacement schedule or we've worn one out which is saying A LOT!

Unfortunately for us Dell is now our only approved rugged notebook vendor. I guess I'll know how they hold up soon enough.

Hmm I see those R5 releases becoming even more popular in the interim. Until Studios have a global policy to reflect a global supply it really doesn't matter a whit what rule they attempt to make. If I can get it anywhere cheaper/faster/as good, then it's sure as shit anyone can.

One region one price no artificial scarcity. Deal with what you CAN sell not attempt to control what you cannot.

Typically a newly released dvd in a store has been on the internet 2-3 weeks. Brilliant fucking plan geniuses. "hint it's not the rentals that are doing this to you"

This one I will download and play single player and IW can kiss my hairy ass if they don't put dedicated back in. "I've ran many smaller dedicated servers over the last 10 years"

I totally planned on getting this via pre-order because cod4 was so good. I had quite a few fav servers and some that had really kick ass mods. I even was part of a clan for the first time in 7 years. We typically ran MOD night once a week. The petition is up to almost 100K sigs. That's 100K PC PLAYERS@49-59$ They better listen up.

In a few years it will be an expanded version of tv with none to little user control about what we want to see. Soon it will be.. we noticed your IP has downloaded X amount of gigs in the last two days. It's impossible that you are doing anything legit and we are going to cancel or reduce your connection speeds for a month if you continue illegally downloading. PS. This may have been a virus and if so please take your pc to an **authorized vendor to clean it.

Would as soon see 10 great pc games a year as another 100 ports with absolutely SHITTY controls. I can live with poor graphics. occasional bad camera. Controls MUST be designed well and with ALL options for a PC.

For example. I believe Devil May Cry "or a similar port" Had a GAMES FOR WINDOWS logo on it. I attempted to play it with Keyboard/mouse and it was horrid "unable to play game breaking." So I got my PS3 controller and plugged it in. The Assholes who developed it only allowed a Xbox Controller scheme not a PS3 or another Standard Game Controller. So rather than being able to at least try playing the game I was immediately turned off it.

Good thing I didn't pay for it. If you want to design for Consoles then by all means do so. Unless you have prior experience making PC games with great controls. Then please stay the fuck away.

Ya, I have an original 60gb "120 now" that had the emoticon? chip and natively plays ps2 games just fine. For my part I own a Wii, 360, and PS3. PS3 is my media center that I game on the 360 is my kids machine that does most of what my ps3 does but also wants me to pay to play.

My son will never have a purchased live account until he's 12 or older so it kind of sucks that some multiplayer features and demos are blocked. "I have a 30 day live account card but I almost never play on his system so why use it?"

While not everyone uses the blu-ray features I do.. but I use it for streaming HD video from my computer just as often.

I'm not a fan boy. I find all 3 systems to be a lot of fun depending on what you want to do. I like that sometimes the deals on 360 games are better so we buy more for it. However the ps3 exclusives have been a blast. inFamous is one kickass game.

I've read a few articles on the 360 coming to a point that the content will not fit on a single DVD which is going to be a seriously limiting problem. It already takes an inordinate amount of time for some content to load on both systems. The wii doesn't suffer from this.
