It would be cool, until one of them hits a satellite and knocks out a satellite. That would be a costly experiment:P. Adding to the tonnes of space debris moving at crazy speeds probably wouldn't be a good idea.
If you could launch them one at a time and ensure re-entry then it would be safe probably.

Microsoft said it was here to stay,
First they denied it, the community despised it, we can only home its deprecated.
...and so it begins. Not on the frontiers of outer space, not launched from Mars during the night...but here, on Slashdot. They have found how to infiltrate our minds and compel us to respond, waste our mod points, and upset the balance of society itself.
They tested the candidates in a tank that simulates microgravity using two different liquids of equal density. I wonder if the surface tension of those two liquids affects the experiment at all? Thats interesting.
My room has some carpet, and if I walk across it and start typing on my Inspiron 1720, sometimes I get shocks from the edge of the keyboard tray, I guess there is a little bit of exposed metal around the edge. Its probably not a design flaw though, it seems to deal with the charge fine.
Another shocking aspect is how well it runs linux! Everything worked:)
I'm interested in their quote on the number of phrases it can store. Is it 10,000 short phrases like "Where are the terrorists!!", or is it 10,000 longer phrases "I would like to have a chat with a member of your family to see if they might be a terrorist before we destroy all your property."?
No, it was two years ago. It was a local wireless ISP, and the only one we could get at the time. DSL made its way out here finally and its truly unlimited.
I think the idea isn't packet sniffing but actual logging of the messages in the server software.
There is a great disturbance in the open source world, as if millions of voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
I learned Java before I learned C++, and I didn't know anything about memory management. I had to learn it the hard way with C++.
He simply needs to read man fork to learn how!

Innocent TV watchers were bothered by flickering images of the internet appearing on their TV.
They are realizing that they can actually make more money this way, plus they get free bugfixes and user support as well. It's a win-win :)
I guess "bricked" to Apple users means a part of it doesn't work, making it "like a brick" to them.
Mass disk eraser, "borrowing" the video machine, giving users "more disk", lending out the 120VAC->RJ45 "this will fix it" cord. Stuff like that.

Hack a Day had this story yesterday, http://www.hackaday.com/2008/01/16/bowling-industrial-robot-style/. Good to see it make slashdot, though. It's also interesting its on the "mana potion" energy drink site.
We've dubbed them the "First Posters". Trying to open any sort of dialog with them has proved futile.

It means your "Strategically Engineering Anti-Gravity Humanoid Powered Suction Devices(TM)" are worth something, yes.

Ah, a mind-diff. Thanks for the info :)
It would be interesting to see how they mapped the neurons -> robot. Something like this:
Neuron Mapping Factor Adjustment(TM):
Direct Neuron Mapping |-------||---| "Thinking about walking patterns" triggers robot walking code.
