I have no problem with these kids though, gives people who KNOW how to code an easier way. Also checkout http://thedailywtf.com/ for samples of what these people will become.
The amount of data here is really enormous. To put it in perspective, if you lined up 7143 blondes, the number of strands of hair present would approximately equal the number of entries in this database.

FTA: "The scientists hope their findings will help reopen the debate over federal funding of stem cell research in the United States."
the real contribution any stem cell research/findings should at this point be :
1. clearing up its name, after the incident from *that* korean scientist
2. reducing if not totally eliminating legal limitations based on ethical issues.
1. Windows is ONE OS. Unix mentioned is more than one, there's SuSE, RH, Debian, *BSD... its not fair to compare one OS to many.
2. It's not just how MANY vulnerabilities there are, also how much chaos they cause and how much money they cost.
3. With OSS, finding problems is not as bad a deal, that just means someone will come up with a patch soon enough. With windows that means someone will come out with an exploit soon enough. It therefore means different things on different systems.
Given enough eyes all systems become perfected. The difference with Windows and Unix is the path to that perfection. Windows is obviously a longer painfull path.
I work with one of the founding company of BluRay. For both business and technological reasons we will not begin production on end consumer blu-ray til '07 which means it will probably begin popularity in '08 provided all else goes very well. Shift from DVD has not started, in fact we have *just* started production on a next generation DVD-RW which comes with 400 gb HDD. A batch of 700 gb HDDs arrived coupla months ago for testing but never passed for production. However prototypes on bluray has been around since 2003. We have one of the first models sitting on display somewhere around.
My point is: even the big companies (at least the one i'm in) are doubtfull of a proper strategy with BluRay. I dont think the following model works.
1. Make BluRay
2. ????
3. PROFIT!!!
"And that is the problem. Progress ends when you stop looking for alternative explanations."
Even with evolution we are starting to stop to look for anything alternative. I am not for nor agaisnt the theary of evolution. But it remains just that - a theory. Being a better theory does not make it true. Remember the time when the most acclaimed minds in the world thought that the world was flat? Or how the best minds once thought the molecule was the smallest unit before they discovered atoms and electrons and those became the smallest. Then they they spilt THOSE up too. Remember the period table 50 years ago had less elements than they do now.
Intelligent Design may not be the answer. But that does not mean evolution is. Scientists are supposed to have an open mind. Accept your believes and accept that they may be wrong.
Let me play edvils advocate a while. Forcing the users to properly educate themselves before being allowed a connection seems harsh - but fair. For one thing that means more business to IT technicians who can charge users for services rendered to properly configure their computers. And with that comes the opportunity of spreading open source software, so no, personally I dont really see a problem.
The best way i see it is; we need license to drive, to practice law, and need to be of legal age to drink, I suppose it is only fair that a certain form of regulation is placed over the usage of the Internet. If nothing else, to make sure users dont hurt themselves. Or others.
My question though is how would the ISP notify the blocked users of the exact problem and remedy? Final note: If the reconfiguration is handled and financed by the ISPs then it becomes a lil more fair.
... to see what would happen if iraqis have a similar robot running Windows Mobile 2006 (tm) :D
... how Quantum Viruses would be.
in 2015 when the craft reaches pluto it will be greeted by Japanese rocket launched 2010 carrying korean 8-legged-roboAssTroNuts
p.s. How long before we get to the Pegasus Galaxy? I need to ask Thor and the Ori about Intelligent Design. I'm pretty sure they were involved somehow

In defence, we developed killer mohawks
...we become the next generations intelligent designer?
This approach works by inducing nerve cells in the brain and the spine to release natural antioxidants that protect nerve cells from stress
So technically it can be used to counter depression...?
