Also, it measures defects for the number of opportunities instead of number of units, which is the old way.

For example, which is better: 1000 defecs for 1,000,000 cars or 100 defects for 1,000,000 pens?

If we consider that a car may have 10,000 opportunities for defects while pen manufacturing has maybe 5, the car factory would be in better shape than the pen factory.

I imagine that the OSX version is OpenGL. If that's the case, then most of the work to make the graphical portion of the game on Linux is already done.

But Linux is just impossible to support (too many distros, too many configurations, too many kernel versions, too many GUI environments, too many ways to fuck up, etc).

That's why Linux is great if you're in the business of selling support for Linux.

But Blizzard doesn't do that. They sell a "finished" product and hope for no support at all.

I have an iPod. I like the hardware but hate the software. iTunes makes a good player actually, but I can't stand Quicktime. iTunes is basically a trojan that wants to install Quicktime, which is a virus.

I recently purchased a Samsung mp3 player that had "Plays for sure" indicated on the box. That's a push by Microsoft for those who don't know. Well, I was pretty surprised to see that "Plays for Sure" basically uses Windows Media Player for a comptible MP3 player the same way as the iPod uses iTunes to manage songs. I was hoping for an old-fashion drag and drop. I haven't tried on a non-MS OS yet and I am not sure yet if Plays for Sure manages the library like iTunes does (partly meaning that it's "hooked" to one computer.)

At least Plays For Sure doesn't seem to rename the songs for no good reason. And the Samsung player has many hardware advantages over the iPod

I would recommend getting a player that's not an iPod and doesn't use Plays for Sure. And speaking of iPods, they are really not that great. When you try someting else, you don't go back.
