It's a modified Linux distro for the RP, but it sets up as a media center -
"Raspbmc is a minimal Linux distribution based on Debian that brings XBMC to your Raspberry Pi. This device has an excellent form factor and enough power to handle media playback, making it an ideal component in a low HTPC setup, yet delivering the same XBMC experience that can be enjoyed on much more costly platforms"
It/they are supposed to be simple, no-brainer installers that give you a ready to go media center without lots of faffing around. Xbian is a 'competing' distro.
I did, yesterday, and it's freakin' awesome. I'll also be getting the other half one next week, and a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Apple has lost 3 sales right there.
Absolutely. The whole 'wheel' thing came out of a need for good old fashioned leverage to turn heavy non-power-assisted steering, and now it's so ingrained that even though it isn't actually needed anymore, any alternatives are just out of the question. From a safety perspective, doing away with the whole big round wheel on the end of a metal pole at chest height makes sense too, but that would be too 'different'
Sadly, I have to concur. After developing good friendships with a number of females, I'm always quite shocked just as to how many have been raped or subjected to abuse.
I still have my brown wedge C64 in it's box (including hacked in reset button!) along with a brown 1541, and a couple of 64C's and a 1541-II, one of those dinky little plotters that use the coloured pens and roll of paper (the number eludes me right now - 1520?) and various other bits and pieces, MPS-801 printer, cartridges (Freeze Frame FTW!). I still also have my original boxed Vic, cartridges, datasette/s. At various other times I had two Vics and for a while a PET-8032SK and the 8050 (I think?) dual drive, that thing was so heavy!
I eventually went down the Amiga -> PC path, dabbled with the ZX-Spectrum, DEC Rainbow and others, but the C64 still is my favorite. My very first programming experience was Tank vs UFO out of the back of the C64 user manual.
I contributed to the Wasteland 2 kickstarter, and it was said all along that if/when it reached X dollars there would also be a Mac and Linux version. It easily passed that amount. In one of the follow-up newsletters, they stated that they had reviewed a number of game engines and chosen Unity, one of the reasons being that they had been working on porting it to Linux anyway and that there had been a substantial amount of work done already to that end, before being chosen for Wasteland 2. That and the development tools made it very easy to work with and they could put more resources into content, rather than creating/porting an engine and so on.
(I don't have the email in front of me - so I'm going from memory)
I'd heard of them, but I don't recall seeing an actual store - whereas right now, I'm in short walking distance of 3 EB stores. (And 2 JB-HiFi's). Hardly a 'major' chain.
I follow the local railway service on Twitter, and find it very useful for real time info - expected delays and so on. The tweets (twits?) arrive generally quicker than the same info through the SMS service.
Outside of that though, no, not much interest in Ashton Kutchers turds.
It does have it's uses, but it seems more banal, idiotic uses than meaningful.
Oh yeah...I actually dug my C64 out weekend just gone and gave my son a hiding in International Karate +:). Mind you, I bought that 64 when I was about his age...
No, but they still need to work out how to breed tiny tiny sharks with tiny tiny frickin' laser beams on their heads to inject into your bloodstream as well
That really looks like you are making the threat to report the company to the app store
I'd say that depends greatly on the companies culture and your relationship with your superiors and their attitudes towards staff.
In this situation, I could quite comfortably approach my boss and point that out, without it looking like a threat, and I'm confident he would take it seriously and investigate it.
Well personal experience -
Wii repaired/replaced - 0 (bought on launch day, in Aus, still going)
PS3 repaired/replaced - 0 (Won in a comp - one of the early 40Gb fat models, still going)
360's repaired/replaced - 3 (3x RROD, models, and as they say, 3rd time's a charm)
Yes, YMMV etc.
Ah, I only knew because I happened to be doing a little research on media players on the weekend and happened across the project ;)

Quantum, all the way. Sunset Sarsparilla just isn't the same.
I thought that it was the quality, not quantity. So my GF tells me anyway
Well, I believe that rounded corners is already patented.
That might, depending on the industry you're aiming for

Ballmer. Oh you meant favorable attention. Sorry, my mistake. Carry on.

Assuming that you're giving up 20 minutes of productive work time, rather than 20 minutes of ass-sitting couch potato time
Well there is one obvious side effect. They've lost their balls.

Boxed, with the leads, manuals, tapes. Also still have my Vic-20, boxed, and C64 & 1541 - also all boxed, but they aren't particularly uncommon.
I see what you did there!

Death from crushed pelvis type controlled?
That has made my day!

As long as it doesn't have rounded corners
