Unfortunately I cannot find a reference, but I was always taught that 'a lot' was one word with a space in it. In retrospect this sounds very odd:) but is what I was taught in school.
In theory a live disk would be untraceable, although in retrospect, Puppy Linux would be a better option as they can update if using an RW (can any other distros do this?).
The bit about buying Windows was a joke. See, he's a convicted pirate. And we're talking about buying software. Pirates have a tendency to not purchase software. So the joke implied that he would not actually purchase said Windows, but actually pirate it instead. Yes, pirating the software would likely violate his parole, that is why it was a joke (even my original post alluded as much).
Sorry for the *very* slow reply, but I may have the answer. the.000000001% (made up number, but you knew that, this is Slashdot;) ) chance you have of dying every time you get in a car is greater than the chance of the average/.er having sex, let alone the condom breaking, let alone a pregnancy caused.
I assume corporations have direct access to Dell to process RMAs and warranty work, request on-site service, etc., without going through a callcenter drone.
Boy, I wish! At least their academic accounts don't seem to. Last time I had to RMA one for the university I worked for I had to sit on hold for a spell & then promise a nice bananna to get my RMA.
RTFA, they only have a problem with the COMMERCIAL USE of the cross, as per their agreement in the 1800's then ARC agreed to not use it that way. Now ARC sees that they can make some money letting someone make stuff with the cross on in & J&J is reminding them that this is a no-no.
Just because a giant company is suing a non-profit does not necessarily mean the giant is wrong and the non-profit is right.
Is that like being protected by the Geneva Convention?
I'm not trying to be a troll, but we did kinda agree to that back in the day and lately are trying to weasel out of it. The current administration seems to feel rights are great, unless yours (or mine) get in their way, then they are pesky things to be circumvented through new definitions (ala enemy combatant, etc).
This is just my experience. If you have mod points & disagree please tell me why & share your perspective rather than mod me into oblivion.
That's it! Thank you! I was trying to figure out why I'm always using https (not complaining, just not running script monkey, etc). I spent the last 5 min searching my gmail settings while reading & came across your post.
Thank you for your (surprisingly good) analogy. As much as I hate windows, I am a power user & can do 'bout anything with it. When I sit down at my linux box (except to surf/whatever) I feel dumb.
Alot

Sheesh
I thought he was a pirate - "buy Windows"?
:)
I'll say it since no one else has, Ubuntu live CDs seem the way to go.
/ shoot, do you go for +1 funny for the pirate bit or +1 insightful for the live CD. Heck, go -1 overrated for my using the Karma Bonus
Local radio station CENSORS music played.
Details at 11.
see: here and here
Apparently a mod didn't find it funny either. Oh, well.
*whooosh*
... ;)
My "reply" was to a post that was replying to my post.
It was a joke.
Apparently not a very good one
You can't go faster than the speed of light. Just can't happen.

There you have it.
Wow. I'd like the answer to this question as well.
At what point is something different enough that copyright no longer applies? Is there a lawyer in the house?

(Using my Karma bonus only to attract attention to parent - mod him up, not me)
Maybe I'm having a Monday, but every line read ??? to me ....

But what you don't see is your lack of buoyancy increases your risk of drowning - why should a healthy tub-o like me have to pay for that? ;)
Wow. You guys managed to embarrass Lindsay Lohan.
... ;)
Takes a lot these days
And then, by posting, de-modded him.

maybe not "no brand"
We'll get it when Linux has been adopted by 50% of computer users, the day before Duke Nukem Forever comes out.
Troll/Flamebait mod == mods with no humour
Does no one use usenet anymore? Sure it's $10-25/mo, but downloading is fairly anonymous ...
Actually, it's easier to filter ACs -5.
Gosh, I'm trolling a troll. Someone shoot me.
You had fire growing up? Youngster.
Was that all that was stolen?
(really, I don't know - you think I actually RTFA?)

Yep, works great
(ok, a little OT, so sue me

Again, this is OT, feel free to mod as such.
I always thought DOS 5 was the best MS OS. Never crashed. Did what it was supposed to do. MS has been downhill since then, IMO.
YMMV.
