While it's certainly not a disaster, cases such as this can hardly be denied.
I've also been struck by how, even with all the notifications I get in Vista, how annoying it is to find basic information. For example, in Windows XP you have a control panel called "Add or Remove Programs." While not elegant, it is clear. You know what that control panel's functionality is, no guessing. It adds and removes programs. The Vista version? "Programs and Features." Huh? What does that do? Well, you don't know from the name, other than it has something to do with well, programs and features. When you think about it, that rather covers the entire OS and everything you'd do on a computer. Yet "Add Hardware" is the same on both versions. In Windows XP, you set your display options using the "Display" control panel. That's nice and clear. Vista? It's buried in "Personalization." Because when I want to change my monitor resolution, that's exactly what pops into my head as an experienced Windows user: Personalization. Yet mouse settings, which look to have been rolled into "Personalization," still have their own separate entry. [an article from this story]
I don't claim to know anything Apple's forum rules, but could it not be that the question was removed because they thought this was an Nvidia bug and as such not their responsibility to discuss?
Not the standard reset button, but built into the outer display casing which is in fact a power switch. It's normally located at the top on the right. I'd hardly say that removed the need for staff attention, amply demonstrated by the fact you didn't know about it.
Wouldn't this only be comparable if Windows included Firefox (for example), but only placed a shortcut in the Start Menu whereas Internet Explorer could be launched from the desktop?
I just bought a pink PSP for my girlfriend and couldn't resist showing her so that I could play it. Thanks for reassuring me that it's only The Sims 2 that suffer from such performance issues. You have to wonder why, because all the game really involves is playing short animations and displaying text - or at least that's where it lags. How exactly can one excuse slowdown issues during a single-player reaction game? *shrug*
You don't need to be blind for that to be a problem if the store doesn't price the items on the shelf. Most people have a general idea of an item's worth and would obviously not be happy handing over $100 for a candy bar for example.
I too assumned he was exagerating when he said it was so slow. I thought my computer had crashed before a new location even started to load. It took at least 15 seconds to completely display, despite my 10 Mbps cable. It gets worse; input a UK postcode only to be presented with an error that it can't be found. That could perhaps be explained by saying this is a beta intended for the US, but if you enter ", UK" to the end of said postcode it indeed does find a location. The only problem however was that this location was on the other side of the country to where the postcode refers to.
Better than Google Maps? I think not. YMMV.
Microsoft's offering isn't too bad; the interface doesn't match the simplicity of Google's, but the image quality at my location was finer.
Recently I've started to see people instructing one to 'click x key', but I'm with you; a key is pressed rather than clicked. Then again, maybe it's always been that way and I've only just noticed and is only a sign of bad grammar and/or a lack of attention to detail.:)
In order to alert a parent when a child left the predefined area the alarm would have to present on the parent's hadnset, rather than the child's, would it not?
Am I the only person to think this guy has too much time on his hands?
I'm sorry, bullied into file sharing? That common round your way? :P

That was his point..
Actually, they did. :P

That wouldn't work, because they'd all be coming from the same domain.
My point being that prominence (or lack of) is not the same as non-inclusion.

Do most Slashdotters hate AOL users? It's the same exact thing. These people shouldn't be on the internet. At least not mine anyway.
Errrm.. Garry McKinnon didn't do that.

Somehow I don't think the US will lack access to oil while Bush is President.
How? From the University? Wouldn't that be individual policy?
Fat chicks maybe?
As per previous story, not available. :/

Mainly due to the fact each country has their own laws..
That doesn't make it a better browser, only more popular, which isn't the same thing at all.
What are the best features of IE7 that sets it above the competition, what features are perhaps lacking and are you currently working on adding these?
