When the movie was advertised, the ad didn't see "ads and a movie." When I bought a ticket, the ticket didn't say "Ads & ".
The theatre and I made the deal that I buy this ticket and in exchange I show up at the theatre at the time listed to get to see the movie. Nowhere did they say anything about ads.

  2. Use adapters on PSP Battery Journal · · Score: 1

I owned (and still own) some Atari Lynxs. I don't remember exactly what the batter life was (3-4 hours maybe?). But I do remember how I extended battery life: When playing in the car, I used the car adapter to power it. And when playing at home, a lot of times I used the AC adapter. These allowed me to save the batteries for when I needed them.

I don't know Microsoft's policies with Office, but I think some companies upgrade their software every few years because the vender tells them "we're not going to support that version anymore." I've never understood that myself. If the software is working fine for what you're doing, why do you need support? I used Atari computers for several years after they stopped being manufactured. Software doesn't suddenly stop working because the company that made it goes away/drops support/whatever.

Actually, I don't use GIMP. (I use Paint Shop Pro.) The reason I suggested it, was that other posts seemed to imply that GIMP loaded a lot of unnecessary stuff at startup. I apologize if I've offended anyone, especially GIMP developers. They do deserve a lot of credit for what they have accomplished.

I don't think season 5 was as good as the others. But it did have some good episodes. One of my favorites was "A View from the Gallery". All the other episodes showed things from the "leaders" viewpoints. That one let you see things thru the eyes of some common people living on the ship. The same stuff is still going on in the background. But you see it from a different viewpoint. I thought it was a nice change of pace.

What about lazy initialisation/lazy loading of modules?

I agree. Abode Reader on Windows takes a while to load, in part because of all the plugins it uses. Many of which I don't need if I'm just reading a document. There are programs that will modify reader so that it doesn't load all those plugs and it starts up faster.

Why not add something like this to Gimp? Let the user choose the plugins they use most and have only those autoload. Then have the others load as needed?

Personally, I think some of the math books make the simple things too hard. I was out of high school for several years when one day it hit me what pi was. I realized that if you took the diameter of a circle and wrapped it around the circle, it would go pi times. I remember going over pi several times in math classes, but I don't every remember being taught that.

Of course, it could just be that I have a bad memory.

But the articles suffered because of it. Instead of articles that told you a lot about a subject, you had ones that just skimmed it and were shorter than a newspaper column.
