I keep calling the 2nd one "The Old Kingdom" since I can never remember the actual name:)
Anyway, Ahn'kahet is contrasts Azjol-Nerub in that it's twice as long. The last boss is one to remember considering that it uses the new phasing tech in a method that you see something different form the rest of your group. It's really cool:)
I thought about that. The only problem there is that building all the needed stuff from ports adds a significant amount of time overhead to provisioning a new server, which is already a little high with the need to make buildworld to -STABLE.
I personally think it's worth it, but selling it to the boss is another matter... You don't need to install everything from ports. You can also install them from packages by doing
pkg_add -r bash
If anything, check http://www.freshports.org/ for what you want installed and it'll show you how to add it as a package (or install as a port).
I usually just do a base install from the first CD and install from ports or packages. Shameless plug: http://notes.twinwork.net/freebsd/ It hasn't been updated since 6.1, but it still works.
This was my first R&C game. The last platform game I actually played was Crash Bandicoot on the original Playstation. I bought the game late Friday night and got hooked into the story (even though I had no other R&C background). It's not a complex story. It's simple (and somewhat predictable), but it was the characters that kept me intrigued. They're likable and memorable.
It ended up being a pretty short and easy game. I played the game all day the following Saturday and finished it the first time through later that night. I ended up buying all the weapons and mostly upgraded all of them (level 5) and only had the last weapon left to put together before beating the game. Playing it through a second time (to get the final upgrades) seemed a bit harder. Enemies took more shots to kill (but this is easily off-set when you're able to upgrade your weapons via the OMEGA versions of it and re-level them to 10). It felt like no matter how much nano-tech you gathered (how much HP you have), enemies were always doing relative damage. After getting the golden groovitron, the game got really easy (especially in the arenas) by spamming your disco ball and swapping to your weapon of choice.
The only thing left I have to do in the game is find the rest of the skill points (think achievements).
Despite it being short and simple, I still had a great time blowing up enemies with a range of destructive weapons:)
I don't have an Xbox, but one of my former roommates did. I was really into Halo 2 when he still lived here so I signed up for Xbox Live. Well, when he moved out, I had no use for Xbox Live. The CC I used for that account went missing and I was issued a new one. I figure any accounts that were tied to that one I'll have to re-sign since any auto-issuing service I had will end up not working. I didn't bother re-signing with Xbox Live since I don't have an Xbox. I figure when it was time for my subscription to renew, they just won't renew it since they have bad payment information.
Nope, I was wrong about that. Xbox Live still renewed my subscription and sent me a bill to my old address about it. They even sent a colection agency after me to collect the fee for a service I haven't signed up for over 2 years.
Xbox Live-- why the hell do you charge customers even after payment is not valid? Send us mail warning us, but don't assume that we want it and charge us! Bastards.
Of course, I first chose not to believe you. And I had to choose this particular tab to close. Suffice to say that your tip definitly does work properly.
I was at the Xbox Zero Hour release party last night (in Palmdale, CA). It wasn't that crowded at the event. I didn't have a problem playing every game on the show floor. I'm sorry to say that I'm not all that impressed with the release titles. (Yeah, I know first generation.) I also had a chance to buy one last night, but I didn't (however, hundreds of others did).
I am impressed how well Live is integrated with the console. When we got there, they gave us a free memory unit and helped us transfer our Live account on it. Then we were able to play on Live wtih the number of games that were available. I think Live will dominate over whatever Sony has to offer as far as online integration with the console.
Despite being not overly impressed with any of the titles, there was one that my buddy and I played for over an hour. It was from Live Arcade (a number of small titles you can download from Live). The game was called Geometry Wars. Yes, strangely enough, it wasn't the multi-million dollar developed games that won my game of the show, but this small independently developed game you can download from Live.
I'll wait around like I did with the original Xbox before I get one. Same thing goes with the PS3. Comes back to what we said many a time: good games make good consoles.
Same deal with the Compaq EVO 510 workstations. They're cheap workstations, but our university is refreshing them out this year. Looks like a bad kernel dump when it tries to boot the installation CD.:(
Interesting. Can you post your fstab somewhere I can see it? I have a server running 4.11, and I've been wanting to upgrade to 5.x, but never had the guts to. I just didn't want to go down to the colo and spend a few hours rebuilding the OS if I hose it remotely.
Revenge is both harder and easier than Takedown. Wait... what?
We have two Xboxes. One of them has Takedown on it that has over 80% completed. The other Xbox didn't have Takedown on it. I started playing Revenge on the latter Xbox. I managed to get to Elite (Rank "11") less than two weeks. Now I'm struggling to complete events in rank 10 and 11.
We started playing Revenge on the Xbox that has the Takedown save on it. We found out that you get a few extra cars if you have EA saved games on it (Madden 06 and Takedown were our saved games). The extra crash cars made it easier for the Crash mode...
However, the game is MUCH harder. We're at Rank 4 with this Xbox (the Takedown Xbox) and the AI in those events are equivelant to Rank 9 and 10 on the Xbox that doesn't have Takedown on it.
Pretty challenging (and frustrating). I was wondering why Revenge was so easy when I first played it. I thought this varied difficulty depending on the gamer's history was pretty clever on Criterion's part.:)
That's like the most informative document I've read as a web developer... well... one of them. I never knew the problems about XHTML. Thanks, I'll be writing in HTML 4.01 now:)
(I guess I'm not so much as a "web developer" if I didn't know that piece of information about XHTML 1.0 vs. HTML 4.01.)
I'm actually waiting for my first generation PS2 to crap out on me. It hasn't given me any problems, yet... which is strange because I keep hearing of these bad DVD drives. I must've had one of the few first generation PS2s that worked as it's supposed to:)
My PS1 is a different story. I went through three PS1s (1st, 2nd, 3rd generation). I'm on the 3rd and it totally craps out unless you flip it upside down... even then you'd be lucky. But it's okay since I do play my PS1 games on the PS2.
Funny. The other day I was playing Final Fantasy 6. I found it humorous that I'm playing a PS1 game originally created for SNES on my PS2. I can't wait to do that on a PS3;)
(I guess that's the same way for people to play old NES emulators on their PSP. Goes to show that no matter how bleeding edge your hardware is, it'll always come back down to the games.)
You heard of selective hearing? Well, that's selective reading;)
Having Opteron 1xx on 939 is weird though. Having a Opteron 1xx line in general seems weird to me. I figure smaller workstations would be for 1xx... however, the speeds of the FX line would be the suited here (or even X2). Whenever I consider putting together Operton servers for clients, I always go for 2xx series at the very least.
Maybe that's why he implanted it into his left hand and not his right hand since you traditionally shake hands with your right hand... (at least here in the US).

Good idea. I would prefer some kind of lossless format, too. Just too bad it won't ever be FLAC:|
It was more like a pop-under. Go to the website and click on one of their articles. I noticed a new Mozilla window opened up in my taskbar. It was a pop-under ad.
Need! Err... so much WoW references going around, I get confused :|
Oh, I see what you did there :)
Imagine if only a tenth of those downloads gave you a dollar. You'd be set for awhile :)

I'll probably have to try this in a couple of weeks (need to take a break) and only use wrench during the run through :)

You can always slipstream post-SP2 patches to an XP SP2 disc... along with drivers and what not. Start here: http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/

Four! I mean five! I mean FIRE!
(Sorry, couldn't help myself. That show rocks.)
I always thought the error was always in the first step.
:)
It says time "and" money. I always associated "and" as adding and not multiplication. But please tell me if I'm wrong

I know you're only trying to be funny, but you'll need to at least upgrade to 5.3-RELEASE before upgrading to 6.0.

So those 5.4 discs won't go to waste after all

I thought Opterons were only on 940... even the 1xx series.
1080P, so that's 1080 lines right?
1080P is 1920x1080 progressive.
