I once interviewed for a job at a MLM's headquarters. One of the major responsibilities was to make sure the independent reps weren't implying they were the real company on the web. Considering the size of the AP, I don't find it unreasonable that they would employ someone to search for copyright infringement.
Back in the late 80's/early 90's my dad would fill up an extremely large comeback cup every day at a nearby quickie-mart. When he finally cut down, it took nearly a month for the withdrawals to subside.
He experienced all the same symptoms listed in the article: headaches, lack of energy, general irritability.
I see friends slam Monsters and Redd Bulls, and I wonder how their body is going to react when they try to quit.
Can anyone honestly tell me why a child needs a cellphone? While I love my kids, they all know they aren't important enough to need one. Hell, I'm not even important enough to need a cellphone.
Since we're getting into semantics, an AC unit actually removes moisture from the air. That's why it is called a Air Conditioner, not an Air Cooler. The cooling effect is just a byproduct of the moisture removal.
I work for a similar company, but with about 5k DSL subs.
Occasionally, we get cease and desist orders from various copyright holders concerning PTP traffic from our users. Consider just sending out a friendly message to your "problem" users that you have been contacted, and are cooperating with law enforcement and the copyright holders.
I bet your big users cut back on bandwidth usage very quickly.
Second, be sure the users you have a problem with know they are big users. Its quite possible that you may have some customers who have been infected by a zombie bot.
While I do have to fault manufacturers for poorly estimating demand, you do have to acknowledge the retail market forces involved. My Wal-mart has at least 50 sitting on the shelf. Why? Because there is no over-the-air broadcasts available in our community.
I imagine a bean counter in Arkansas is looking at a bottom line and thinking "we have thousands of these across the country, and they aren't moving."
You see, there is a certain percentage of the population that doesn't do things until they are penalized. My wife manages apartments, and to get the rent, she has to file an eviction notice for the same 2-3 renters every month to get paid. The renters get charged all the processing fees to have the notice served, so the effectively pay an extra $50 a month in rent.
My employeer sells telephone, cable (the reason I know so much about the DTV switchover), and internet service. Each is a separate business, so if someone doesn't pay their bill, they get 3 different disconnect charges. We have business customers who have paid reconnection charges every month for the last 10 years. Some people just will not act until they are punished.
So who's responsible? The government? The TV stations? Or is it the responsibility of the individual to be an adult and act in a proactive, responsible way?
The state (rightfully) licenses business (tv, radio, cellphone, etc.) to use various parts of the electromagnetic radio wave spectrum. The state wants to change how those airwaves are used and must coordinate changes involving hundreds of licensees.
Before today's vote, only 6% of the population was confused by the changeover according to Neilson Media. That means you reached 94% of the population.
94% comprehension is a pretty good result.
I can only imagine how many people are going to be confused by a slow, staggered changeover instead of the solid Feb. 17 deadline. Its kind of like ripping off a band aid on a hairy arm. Its a lot more painful if you do it slowly.
We're a small shop with 8k subs. We only added digital feeds last year, and that was just new channels. We still maintain the analog feed, but I suspect we'll switch that channel range over to clear QAM in 2010.
When something goes wrong on the digital end, the channels just shut off, not switch to Debbie Does Dallas.
Regardless, the only PPV we ever sell anymore is porn.
I work for a CATV operator, and my desk is 200 feet from the headend. There is no way that could have been a glitch. The real question is was it a malicious or ignorant act of an employee. Regardless, the unemployment rate just went up in Tucson.
I have two uncles that worked on different parts of the first atomic bombs.
The one I consider the brilliant scientist still doesn't talk much about what he did. We just know he was involved.
The second was part of a team that built a deployment apparatus. They would get specs from another government agency, build the parts, get some feedback and rebuild. They had no clue what they were working on until they saw the news reports about Hiroshima.
Honestly, most of the people involved in those early years didn't have any clue what they were involved with. The top brass did, but they weren't the ones charged with caring for the neat stuff that made the little screen glow when it got near.
I think you've started to grasp the idea I was (poorly) expressing. We don't think truth comes from the Book of Mormon, but we recognize it as a pure testament of Christianity. Truth comes from God. On a very basic level, I believe all good knowledge comes from God. That includes all scientific, medical, technological, etc. knowledge in the world. Its a lot easier to reconcile scientific discoveries with spiritual knowledge when you recognize God knows and understand all those things on a level we don't even know exists.
As to other religions, there is a quote I once heard that sums up a lot of religion: "the philosophies of men mingled with scripture."
Let me give you an example where we feel like we have a better understanding than most of the world. Mormons believe in an afterlife that extends beyond the traditional heaven/hell of most Christian teachings. Yes there is a heaven/hell, but we call them Paradise and Spirit Prison respectively. Even those who go to hell have the opportunity to accept Christ and be redeemed. Beyond that, there is a final judgment beyond just the your either good or bad idea of heaven vs. hell. Look in 1 Corinthians 15:41-42. It talks about the resurection being graded as either of the sun, the moon, or the stars. That's three levels it describes being in glory. If heaven or hell is all there is, then at minimum, there is a level of glory not explained by most religions. (Not to mention, most don't exactly describe hell being a glorious place.)
The one thing Mormons (missionaries or your friends) as a whole really want is for the world to listen to what we have to teach, then take that up with God. Personally, I have faith that the things I'm taught are true, so its really up to me whether I'll act on that knowledge.

I bet all these companies really appreciate the input from the new guy, Barrack.

So say we ALL!

So, how does that correlate with http://www.pcworld.com/article/160566/utah_online_porn_capital_of_america.html
Power Eagle Hammer 8000 still sounds like something that might be used to take care of various lady business depending on where you shop.
Why won't the government just let capitalism work?
Because people like Bernie Madoff are capitalists.
Possession of a cheating device in a casino is a misdemeanor. Like others have said, using said device may be a death sentence.
A team project building killer robots might just spark that next super-villian. Just think that you could be listed as his/her mentor.
All current Intel Macs include the 802.11n (draft) enabled as a default.

Congress is the one doing this, not the president.
... at the president's request.
The reason for the date change: a bunch of elderly and poor TV viewers are confused about the switchover.
The result: now everyone is confused.
President O, aren't there more important things for you to be working on?

It already exists, and it involves a beef stick. You can find a copy on porntube.
Personally, I just want to see Pepsuber get wacked.
I got a new DB server. I wanted the Dr. Who reference, the Sysadmin wanted something different. We compromised with both.
