It takes an individual with foresight, leadership and determination to consider those ideas, pick the best ones, and apply the right amount of resources in the right places. The iPhone was one of probably hundreds or thousands of ideas Steve heard on a regular basis. He saw the potential and acted on it, effectively changing the entire mobile computing landscape. By the way, no one was stopping employee number 24621 from taking his idea and running with it. He chose to work at Apple because he lacks the skills, resources or connections necessary to bring his idea to life. This is where people like Steve Jobs are important. They bring those skills, resources and connections together to make a successful product.

I've been dying to have access to BBC World streaming, but apparently being in the US prevents me from receiving European propaganda. Anyone know how I can watch this without getting the ever infuriating "this content is not available for your country"?

These are total n00b bugs. If you start with this turd (even if it is "pre-alpha") and expect the FOSS community to be able to polish it into anything other than a turd, you are quite the idealist. The system that Manning "hurt" through his actions is the same system that is punishing him. How is that even remotely comparable to the Nazis and hiding Jews? According to Nazi law, hiding Jews is an act which draws consequence. It wouldn't be surprising if the perpetrators were executed by that system for those high crimes. It isn't surprising, then, that this system is doing what its own code dictates. That doesn't make his court-marshal "right", per se, but seeing as he broke the laws of the system, IT DOES NOT MATTER if it's "right" or "wrong," The system's reaction must be to punish him under its own law.

Also, if you want to take Motorola to small claims court, can you require that the case be heard in your district, or do you have to go to them to have the case heard? Because last I heard, if you want to sue someone in small claims court, but they live in Utah and you live in California, you have to go to Utah to have the case heard.

What utopia do you live in? Do you seriously believe that raising the speed limit will eliminate speeding? If the speed limit were 75 mph on the freeway (average speed of the swarm, from my experience), you honestly believe that these same people would not average over 75? The reason we drive over the limit now isn't because 65 is too slow. It's because driving 10 mph over is a calculated risk. How fast can I drive over the speed limit to improve my travel time while still avoiding being completely fucked in the ass if a cop stops me?
Also, I like how your solution to people breaking a law is to change the law so that people aren't breaking it. That's like saying "dammit, people keep robbing convenience stores and gas stations! Obviously it's the will of the people to rob those places because it keeps happening, so let's make it illegal only if you knock over two convenience stores in a day!"
