Re-working other people's material is not plagiarism, but a means of honouring one's predecessors, learning one's craft and encouraging creativity.
You bring up a good point to the piracy argument that I haven't seen debated before. I guess in the end it would be a waste of time because it would see the same fate as the rendition before it.
In a way isn't that why Google created Google Hack, to show sites, what content is floating out there, so they can secure it or pursue those who let their content sit out there for free.
There is a character limit to Google Docs. I thought it would be a good idea to get some video game walkthroughs saved to my Google Docs, so I didn't have to look them up all the time, so I copied the text to Google Docs and some of the files had too much text for Good Docs to handle.
"Vote Hitler! I know he *said* he'd kill all the Jews, but who knows what might happen when he gets in office?"
Go ahead and vote 3rd party, you're just throwing your vote away.
That's kind of steep. I can get $5 movies at the bargain bin at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc. Or I can rent a movie from Blockbuster for $4 and keep it for 2 weeks. Or I can use netflix and rent a bunch of movies for $10 a month, or I can download it from Xbox Live. There seems to be better alternatives to watch a movie.
I don't see it being that scarey. I would still keep my ISP at home, but it's nice to know that if I'm out and about I could check my email. I wouldn't need to check my myspace page or 2 girls 1 cup from it.
. . . Man's prosthetic arm is lost to plastic-eating bacteria. Necrotizing fasciitis afflicted community takes a moment of silence. There is no escape.
Maybe you should start demanding that your tax money be used to benefit you. Got a pothole in your neighborhood, then call NY and require they fix it with the tax money you are paying them.
Also what is the business owner supposed to do if the credit card is flagged? I would be scared as shit thinking there is a terrorist in my place of business picking up some odds and ends. How do you stall them long enough for law enforcement to get there?
I couldn't find anything in the article stating if you buy the movies or rent. That's a big deciding factor for me as well. I don't use the Xbox Live movie rentals because I want to buy the movies, like M$ allows for the TV shows.
The only thing I really back up are digital photos and home videos. These all can be done for free with online services, like http://www.picturepush.com/ and youtube.com. I'm not sure why people are worried about backing up their music and movies, that stuff can be easily replaced.
I own a cassette tape store. Cassette tape sales has drastically dropped and I'm getting this sinking feeling that the major labels aren't producing this format much anymore since they keep trying to push me to try a newer format, CD. I don't want to adapt because I think tapes will make a come back even with the problem of people making each other mixed tapes.People would be encouraged to give the names of suspected pirates to a hotline, similar to TIPS. Once we know the size of the problem, the police and other law enforcement agencies will be forced to take piracy seriously. They have fought the War on Drugs with skill, so why not the War on Piracy?
you showed me an article that says he "may" have suffered these problems from his vegan diet. No one proved that he did. Also the article points out that the man didn't have a balanced diet, so most likely if he ate meat as well he would have had other health complications, because this person didn't understand how to eat.

Watch the video. It says to make a planet you need "1 Scientist". That's all.
I bet news about the MTV awards gets more coverage than the banana extinction does.

I've never heard of this site, but now that I have I'll never return to /.
I'm pretty sure Ivan Reitman at least copyrighted Evolution.

I think they call it STDVD.
So there won't be showers? I understand they are trying to see what happens in space, but at least let them shower.
The picture on the site shows two women doing it.

Start using cash.

Don't forget about the virgins. Oh the limited amount of virgins for eternity.

I agree. 5 years from now, slashdotters will be linking to this article asking "where did this alt fuel go?"
PS3 is future proof though.
