See, most if not all of open source proyects have a Donations button somewhere on their webpage, but most proprietary software projects don't.
Closed Source projects, specially game development houses could use a Donation button "for all those who downloaded the game for free, from somewhere, and who liked the game so much they want to reward the developers". Some distributors might not like that they don't get a cut from those payments, but hey, they didn't help distribute the game to the donor in the first place.
With most distributions having simultaneous releases, their users would suck the bandwidth out of ISPs dry, leaving the US, possibly the world, with modem-like connection speeds. MS would call for a ban on Linux distros as a matter of national security, slip a few congressmen a suitcase full of green bills, and suddenly, Linux is the newest technological outlaw. Lovely, Shuttleworth. Shuttle the fuck up.

Earth can still support several times that number, but of course, some changes would be needed, such as enough nuclear plants to generate cheap electricity, enough plants that would convert sea water into tap water, dedicating more land in Africa for farming, and some more.
Whole countries waste their lands doing nothing with them! Take a trip between most latinamerican cities, for instance, and you'll find plenty of... nothing! If they were to take advantage of every single square meter of land, like they do in Japan or the Netherlands, there would be plenty of food for humanity, and the animals that feed them.
If you think women superheroes have it tough, black superheroes have it tougher. There's not one that's worth a damn. There's a whole movement promoting the black green lantern, and as far as I've read, that character will be used in an upcoming League o Justive series. To me that's heresy! It's like telling Superman's story from the point he resurrected! Green Lantern's main character and story starting-point should always be Hal Jordan! That's why I'm protesting the only way I can: With my wallet. Even though Hal Jordan's my favorite superheroe, I won't ever buy any merchandise that features Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, or John Stewart. If the comic studios want to promote a black superguy, create a new one!
