  9. They will be banned on Net Phones Taking Off in the Third World · · Score: 2, Insightful

I am from Honduras, there is a law here that says that Hondutel (the only goverment telecom company) is the only one that can regulate international calls. Internet cafes can sell internet access, but they cannot sell phone calls, most of them are charging for phone calls not internet access, they could me banned and closed.

This is a monopoly created by the government.

There have been cases in which some people install a satellite link between honduras and the USA, install local telephone lines in Honduras, and sell phone cards in the states.

The long distance called would only costs the local call price (2 cents a minute plus the satellite link) and you could charge 40cents a minute for a long distance call from USA to Honduras. So you only need 20 local telephones lines and a satellite link to make a lot of money (if you dont get caught)

You can make up to 1 million dollars in 6 months..

    Sorry for my english...

  10. hardware vrs software on Musical Machines Gain Recognition · · Score: 1

there is a flamewar out there between music hardware and software, what is the best?
well, most professional musicians still use hardware (akai samplers, synths etc..), hardware is faster and the sound quality is much better, you cant beat a virus/triton/nord lead synth with just software, but the time will come.

on professional studios there is a combination between both. G4 macs is the most commun computer in studios running sequencers like cubase/logic/protools.

hmm, ebook readers or pdas are pretty cool to read books, you can take them anywhere, better than a laptop,

but not better than a real book, anyways you spend more energy reading a book from an electronic device than a paper book..

and not the percentage of people who read books on electronic devices is very small

This is a sign that copy protected CD is giving problems to the regular customer who buys CDs, not the pirates, has anyone heard complains about

"Why cant I find this song on Audiogalaxy?"

Music will be always copied and will be always available on the internet for download, whether they want to or not, they have to find another way of doing business using the mp3 technology, instead of avoiding it.

  19. Thats kind of cool but on Computer DJ Uses Biofeedback to Mix · · Score: 1, Redundant

what really makes a DJ a really good DJ is his hability to mix and choose good music, I dont think a good DJ will use this technology it doesnt make sense, thats whats DJing is all about choosing and listening, not having a machine telling him what music to play.

    thats my opinion,
