I would have bought your game just to support the serial code only design but I can not spend my money on The Sims, sorry.

I guess the reason is that the average adult The Sims player can not pirate the game or will fuck up their PC so badly in the process that they will never try again.

Anyway, great move. This will make me 100% happy and I will start purchasing games from guys again as long as they don't contain more then a simple serial code validation without online validation.

Back when I worked in a computer repair shop I used to run tests on heavily infected hard drives. I usually ran the test to show our new techs how good Antivir is and that their lovely AVG was not as good as they thought it was.
First I would create an image and scan the drive on our tech computer which was setup with Norton 2008, MacAfee v?, Antivir and AVG

The results where always the same,

Antivir http://www.avira.com/ found and removed the most infections and the computer would usually boot after the scan. It would still need a run of SpyBot and Windows Defender but would be fine. The really cool thing about Antivir is that it works and does not reduce your computer to a 486
I guess the reason why it is not widly known in the USA is because it is produced by a German company.

Norton AV/Isec and AVG are pretty much the same, worthless. They will find infections but will ignore/not clean the really tough infections. Most of the time the computer would no longer boot after a full scan, running Antivir on the drive would remove the remaining infections and the system would boot. As far as resource requirements, Norton is a total pig and they should be ashamed for releasing something as bad as Norton AV/Isec. Avg is not a hog but will not catch a lot of viruses.

McAfee is total garbage, light load on the system but will not find a lot. It also tends to get corrupted easily.

The above is from personal experience using AV products for many years fixing infected customer computers. I have not tried the 2009 editions of Norton, McAfee or AVG. I use Antivir myself on my Windows XP (gaming) computer.

If file sharing software providers would preconfigure their software to more liberal default settings we might not be in the torrent hating mess we are in right now and if you have enough bandwidth to really run a full speed you would know how to change the settings to be more aggressive....

I always configure my programs to use 10KB/s up .... sometimes 15KB/s but never more. Dowloads are usually set to a max of 100KB/s to 160KB/s down.
Maximum connections for all torrent should be below 500, some connections only support 150-300 connections before the Internet connection becomes useless.

    1) Spybot Search & Destroy (free) http://www.safer-networking.org/
This is a spyware checker, cleaner. It will also find keyloggers and screen capturing software
    2) Antivir (free for personal use) http://www.free-av.com/

    3) Norton Antivirus 2008 (not free)
This is another antivirus program, it is not as good as Antivir but it may contain different malware signatures then Antivir.
    4) Adaware (free) http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
Like Spybot but less strict, I don't use it anymore but you should run it anyway.
    5) Windows Defender (free) http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
This one is made (purchased) by Microsoft and is actually quite good, I can highly recommend it to remove crap from a computer. This one is free and includes an "active shield"

If you run suggestions 1,2,4 and 5 above you can assume that your computer is clean. To be sure format and reload.
