Even after reading the wikipedia article on Cloud computing, I still can't give a good definition of it. I know the general concept but if a non-tech person asked me to describe it, I'll give a blank stare.
Is there any reason to update if you use your system strictly as a game system? I'm only using it to enjoy Metal Gear Solid 4 and a few other key games, but I can imagine people like me in the majority.
But then you won't get the Nvidia card with the Linux laptop version of the T61. The "discrete graphics" version of the T61 only comes with Windows. If you know how, tell me because I am planning to get a T61 soon and install Ubuntu.
I can't even imagine a 12 year old working on that. Sure there are prodigies in math and science but protein folding is out of the chart. Education provided to a 12 year old usually does not include Advance Cellular Biology or Molecular Biology.
Ironman/Warmachine = closed source software developed at Stark Enterprises. Villain = Open Source Software maintained by millions of uber geeks around the world.
Not only is Ironman/Warmachine 's suits are more prone to software bugs and require daily updates and/or service packs, they wouldn't stand a chance to the innovative technology of OSS. Heck, let's all create our own ironman suit using Python and WINE! I'll be scared if Sentinels are created by OSS though.
Random matchups will be the way to fight strangers online while friend codes will be used against friends and family. So, there shouldn't be any complaints coming from the masses stating that it will bring the downfall of the online gaming experience. It may not be as elegant as the XBox360 as many claims, but would that stop you from destroying random players across the nation?
So how will it be implemented? Do we the end-users have to download the patches via the Playstation Network? Or, was it secretly already in the current games and just need a firmware update? I assume patches.
I jammed my carry-on with Settlers of Catan pieces and was pulled over for "examination" since the roads looked like carrots and the resource cards bound together with a rubber-band looks like some electronic device shaped like a cube.
It was annoying but at least I know that the airport personnel are closely watching.
One non-linear jRPG is the SaGa series. They have a small niche here in the U.S. but in Japan I believe it has a respectable following. The latest non-remake in the U.S was "Unlimited SaGa" and I believed it had very disappointing sales. It was one of my favorite games to play. I spent about 25 hours for each of the 7 characters to beat.
Let me say that it takes up too much space. I'm afraid to play the 360 due to the scratching, afraid to touch the PS3 because of fingerprint issues, and not playing the Wii at the moment because DS has so many good games. I just want one of them to win but it's not going to happen.
+ watching it the day it comes out
+ watching it uncut (examples: Batman Begins dvd has Scarecrow CGI scenes reduced and Lion King dvd has Scar vs Simba fight edited into only 3 hits while original was a full blown 5 minute battle)
+ nice surround sound
- expensive ($10 per ticket and lots for food)
- strangers shouting and babies crying
- pimple-faced ushers/managers waving flashlights around
So is it worth it to go to the theaters and put up with the crap? I think it all depends on the individual's set up at home. If you have a nice set up, then staying at home is the better alternative. If you have a 20 year old tv, then go to the theaters. One thing I didn't factor is the movie-hopping experience which WILL mitigate the price issue if you watch at least 3 movies with one ticket.
Probably the reason they went with a Twisted Metal sequel is to make easy money. This is the same with every publisher. After one title under their belt along with some slush funds, they can proceed with a creative/risky venture.
I guess I'll keep my mouth shut since even I couldn't think of a valid response. But, it just seems wrong since we have 2 rival companies competing in the video game industry and one (M$) attempted to leverage Immersion hurt Sony.
I don't really care about the price. I'd be glad to pay the $600 US dollars for the premium. The sad part is, what games will I get? The answer is none. I don't have a big HD tv. So unless they release at least 1 big gun soon (MGS4 or FF13) then there's no incentive for me to buy. I guess I'll play my ds/gba (lots of good games) or board games (Settlers or Puerto Rico)!!!
When they do bring the AAA top tier games, then it'll be World War III in console terms.
There's no need to buy food in Oregon Trail. All you need is enough bullets to send the bison the way of the dodo. As for clothes, I only bought enough to "donate" to the pathfinder/shaman/native at the Snake River Crossing. I believe it was 2 sets of clothing.
Another game that I played at the time (which was 1st - 3rd grade if I recall correctly) was Conan. Man, that game was hard. I never passed the 4th level.
I will use my personal observation about the DS in a small family reunion of my girlfriend. During one of the long boring speeches, a few of her cute cousins reached into their purses for a DS. About 5 DS were used to network Big Brain Academy. Now, I was shocked since it's semi rare for me to see females with video games. It's even rare when I see CUTE females with them. Usually, they would be too cool and play cell phone games. It's even weirder that one of the cousins is in a sorority. My point is that video games are decoupling from the typical nerd stereotype.
Metal Gear Portable Ops is a likely candidate for a system seller. It's one of the good games on the PSP that isn't a port.
If they gave us a Suikoden 1 and 2 remake like they did in Japan, I'm sure it'll sell a few systems here and there (and hopefully reduce the ps1 price of Suikoden 2 on ebay).

I'm not sure God of War 3 will be in the XBox 360 since I think that's a first-party title. I might be mistaken though...

Ironman will lose so bad. Think about it...

All the candidates need to do is set up a cron task that will post at the following times:
0800: Woke up and brush teeth
0830: Eat breakfast
1200: Eat lunch
1800: Eat dinner
2200: Sleep
This way, they actually do have a blog entry!!!
Ummm....no

SMB has a larger fan base than CS. That could be the deciding factor whether or not which one is better.

IANAL but isn't it some sort of conflicts of interest? Wow, I am surprised how low M$ will go the outdo Sony.

Actually, my DS is used for GBA games.
Jack Thompson will get an orgasm if there's a hot coffee mod for Wii's future GTA title if the Wiimote is used for thrusting motions.

Is it all Ninja Gaidens? The only ones I played were the 3 on the NES.
