I've been using Dapper as a primary OS since Flight 5 and have been extremely impressed with the stability, considering the warnings and alpha status. Today was supposed to be the release of the original 6.04 if I am not mistaken (before Shuttleworth announced the delay). If they can iron out whatever small bugs remain in the beta until June 1, imagine how rock solid Dapper is going to be. At this point, when you couple the (almost) ease of use and the large forum community this is as close to LotD as you could get. It won't be long before you begin to see more and more comparisons between OS X, Windows, and Ubuntu. Things are going to become very interesting.
I have already converted a few to Ubuntu from Windows and even rekindled some PCs that were collecting dust because of FUBARed Windows systems.
So why should we Americans give a damm what Microsoft's legal troubles are in the EU system.
For the same reasons we should be giving a damn about Microsoft in the first place. They're still a shady monopoly who got away with murder in the U.S. If MS can bully around the EU legal system, they have carte blanche to pretty much do whatever they damn well please.
Oompa Loompa could not run on x86 Macs; only PowerPC based. This exploit is also not specific to x86 as it is specific to the classic Mac OS leftovers hardwired into OS X. Your dubious implication of OSx86 hackers being behind these incidents shows how much you really have been following along.
4) Whoever pirates Windows will follow whatever is the most popular/compatible OS.
Just as all of the leechers out there wanted XP Pro, they're going to want Vista Ultimate Edition. Seriously, how many pirates do you know who really wanted XP Home on their boxes?
Paranoid Android has been updated in order to deal with this exploit. More info here. Of course, you need Unsanity's Application Enhancer (APE) for this to work.
OS X is the direct descendant of NeXTSTEP. Notice the same Dock in the screenshots?
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Windows Taskbar is a ripoff of the NeXTSTEP Dock. Even the Recycler was ripped off (the Recycle Bin).
Thanks for playing and please drive through.
you don't have installed on your computer. If you open a presentation that uses fonts that you don't have installed on your computer, Microsoft PowerPoint substitutes fonts that you do have. For maximum compatibility when you create a document, use fonts that are common to most computers.
A search of TFM turned up NOTHING about embedding fonts except to check the compatibility report. Nada.
For the record, I was using Arial AND one of the templates that comes with Office 2004. I didn't do anything fancy with the fonts.
Office on the Mac isn't truly compatible with Office on the PC. Case in point, I had to give a presentation using PowerPoint (from Office 2004). Unfortunately, we were not allowed to bring in our own laptops, so I had to use the provided PC running Office XP and hooked up to the projector. The bullet points (selected from a template, nothing special) were not only missing, but foreign characters left completely blank spaces in the words and names.
Now I was told in the past that Office 2004 is a catch-up port of Office XP, yet with all of the talk from MS about 2004 having features not found on the Windows version, it's not even compatible with its own family of Office products.

I honestly can't wait for Gassy Gorilla to make a stink in the Linux world.

Typical government waste. I can find a single web site that will give you 25 reasons that does not require 72 pages of padding.
But hey, since MS has filled almost everyone's pockets at every level of government, we won't begin to see any mass adoption of OSS, now will we?
-5, Ludicrous.

Viruses patch your kernel.
You must be new...oh...uhm...never mind.
Your network may be experiencing problems.
Or if they can gain access to the master table and rewrite the data, effectively destroying all other partitions.
Will these new hybrids toast my bread for breakfast and hold my cell phone for me while I'm behind the wheel too?
Ponies have nothing on unicorns.
Now everything about Office 12 makes sense. Maybe that's where the 60% of the code that had to be rewritten really is?
Do you really think that many people want an all electric car?
If owning them means being able to pimp them out with carpool lane access stickers, they will buy.
You did say "gridlocked" and since this is California we're talking about here, you may actually have been on to something after all.
Posting that will get you banned on at least one Mac forum since the majority of Mac users don't have a clue as to what that does.

BTW. Apple ripped off the task bar from Microsoft

Steve will ask paraphrasing Chizen's words (WWDC 2005)
The only question I have for you Bruce is what took you so long?
But somehow it manages to give us a warm fuzzy feeling like...uh...tribbles.

Office 2004 Student and Teacher edition also sells for very cheap. You get 3 licenses for $149.
I can see the marketing for this already:
