Wow. Way to miss the point. That's not what the parent said at all. He said that what matters is whether divulging protected trade secrets is in the public interest.
If it's found that leaking upcoming product information is beneficial to the people (highly unlikely), then the bloggers will be covered under the first amendment. If, however, it's found that leaking upcoming product information doesn't particularly benefit anyone, then PowerPage will be forced to turn over the identity of the leaker.
This gets right to the heart of the matter. So many of you seem to be saying that even if you've signed an NDA, you should be able to tell people about those trade secrets, so long as they promise to write about them. The point is that the entity writing about it needs to have a legitimate reason to be doing so. Informing a concerned public is a far cry from satiating rabid fanboys. And it seems that where exactly that line falls will be decided by the court.
Your argument would be true if you could vote on a single comment multiple times. Since each person is allowed one vote per comment, it is a democracy (as far as comment voting goes).
The article title makes no sense. New hires whats? Is this about some new graphics card or monitor or imaging format or something? And what does that have to do with behavior?!?
Wow! They said I'm highly qualified and exactly what they're looking for. All I need to do is pay a small fee to get more information. It's looking like I have a bright future with them!
You seem to be forgetting that we're living in the golden age of doublespeak. This is very much a situation of "listen to our words and pay no attention to our actions."
Since nearly every game out there requires you to have the CD in the drive to launch it (ignoring no-CD cracks for the moment), where are you supposed to put the CD to encode music while you're playing games? Or are they referring to the raw wave files of your band that you just finished recording before starting into a heavy gaming session?
I love how about half the comments in this thread so far consist of "We make this software and give it to you for free. We don't have to help your dumb ass figure out how to make it work." Umm, guys have you ever considered that this is *exactly* the attitude that this article is referring to?
Got mine a few weeks ago w/Advance Wars and Animal Crossing. Both are great games. I also picked up Metroid Pinball from newegg (looks like they have it for only 16 bucks now--get it!), which is a great pinball/arcade game. So far, I agree that it's among the best console purchases I've made, too. I wish I'd gone for it sooner.
This reminds me of a joke sticker on a CD that came out several years ago. The sticker simply said "...mesmerizing... -Time" as if Time magazine had said that about the CD. It was a fairly small band who had absolutely no chance of ever being reviewed in Time (do they even have CD reviews?), and again, it was done purely as a joke. Anyways, I always got a slight chuckle out of that.

#500 I like black turtlenecks.
Jim Tim. Burton Barton. Same difference. Do you really expect Zork or LtBurrito to do something about it?
How about Dvorakesque?
No, that's reserved for ridiculously ludicrous speculation that ultimately turns out to be true.
And nowhere does it say that Apple made the announcement. Nice reading skills, AC.
Maybe their CEO did not greet Steve in the coffee shop earlier that morning...
"I'm going to fucking kill PortalPlayer!"
Whoops. Wrong Steve...
In all honesty, I havne't been to Fark for a few years. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity for a cheap joke.
The Fark 'boobies' tag finally gets the nationwide recognition it deserves...
*DING*DING*DING*DING*

Ahhh. Didn't know that. I tend to avoid the comments section there like the plague. In fact, it is a plague. : p

My PS2 was my sole DVD player for the first two years I had it. I finally picked up a standalone unit once the prices dropped below $100.
He's obviously referring to the sequel...

Microsoft's history as the provider of all things crass, square, and ugly?
Bingo! : p
Really? I don't think I've ever come across a laptop that had dual optical drives in it. Post a link to these myriad machines, please.

Well duh! Of course it's the arrogant users that are keeping people from trying Linux. That's precisely the reason why I use a Mac.
Remember, the Asian consumer electronics manufacturers know where the money is.
Yes, which is why they go out of their way to not pay the MPEG licensing fees. Not that I particularly care either way, I'm just sayin...

Ummm, you misspelled tokers.
