Even pirates might have invested a certain amount of capital now and then on some retail, and i reckon if someone rm -rf their warez folder most pirates would still have a couple of legitimate recent games which they have afforded themselves.

My point being that being detained is already use of force, hence they have already "laid a hand on you".
Ok maybe the idiom was more about bodily harm but thats the last thing you should worry about if you are detained, they wield a power far more scary then just beating me up.

Thats why when it comes to detaining an individual they should have a damn good reason for doing so.

"Consumers are not interested in searching for and installing apps manually like some enthusiasts will."

They already do, with PC's why can't they do it on a mobile device?
Having the freedom todo so will not affect the consumers that are not interested in that aspect.

But besides that, the freedom of applications does not come with just manually installing packages, but from the Android Marketplace itself, they like the iPhones appstore do try to maintain a repository of stable quality apps, but they still give much more freedoms in what is being put up, but regarding what API's is used and what functionality it provides.

My biggest gripe is how the camera is handled.

I'm probably sounding like a broken record but they really need to get pay more attention to the infinity engine.

If they can just give the camera total freedom, wherever, whenever and let us zoom out so you actually get a good overview of whats going on.
Then the point-drag-click interface would be bearable.

I hate having to use my wasd keys constantly just to move around, especially when Im interrupted by horde nr 2523 of the humongous map, which i again fail to enjoy as much because the battle in someway reminds me of Diablo rather then the tactical battle RPG It's suppose to be.

Also...individual, weight limited, slot based inventory system for each character...its hard to put a finger on it but...you feel rather content after sorting the shoes and deciding which armor to keep and what to throwaway until you reach a shop.

The list based inventory Bioware has going on is just.....bleh....

    A couple of true points:

    1. If you are not a developer, open source adds nothing for an end user so it is a straw man excuse to get a phone.

But where does the end users get their apps?

Isn't it much more ideal for the consumer to have a wide variety of choices for applications?

Applications were the developers had a wide variety of possibilities in regards to implementing features.
