I just managed to go from Terrible to BAD karma. It took me two years.
And now suddenly, on the same day i get to say anything without a -1, i get put back on ignored duty because someone did not like my point about the ridiculous short lifespan on consumer electronics?!
Why don't slashdot just get a -1 disagree option, at least it gives some people the opportunity to be honest.
If you were happy with the first iPhone wouldn't you like to have it for a bit more longer?
I had a second genration iPod, which i loved, i used it often, and i didnt need any new color display or any of that jazz, still don't, but that iPod became useless after 3 years.
For now on unless i am sure I can get at least 5 years out of my gadgets (barring acts of god of course ), I'm not touching it, and even that is a compromise.
I don't understand why people aren't more demanding in regards to this.
That got the luxury of not needing to worry to much about a deadline when they are working on the Adavanced ACTA , or Acta 3.0 edition, or the 3.5 edition.
The whole definition is a mess, but i would say that Halo and Modern Warfare to fall into the "casual game" line.
Also, i think there can be two kinds of Hardcore gamers, Gamers that like complex game system like RPG's and Strategies like Civ, not minding that it will take some time to complete a session and the competitive gamers, people thats obsessed its as competitive as possible, and wanting to have a large scene to where many people play their games. (I dont think having a very competitive multiplayer scene is a bad thing...but i loathe the most fanatical these kind of gamers with a passion, but thats a personal thing...anywhoooo)
The competative hardcore gamers might not have that much to gripe about, since they can still find to enjoy a game that tries to focus on a casual side.
But the gamers that want complexities and challenge thats not revolved around how fast you can twitch your thumb, will have more issues, when their games will turn out to be just like Half Life with two different endings.
However many are still able to turn the wheels by adding the "Franchise" factor.
So the logic is "this game sold well, so lets make another game like it but make it easier for other people to play it" And by doing that, they risk making a watered down version that will now share the same spiritual standards and gameplay that made the game good.
Yet...they still sell, Invisible war sold 10-15% more then the sequel, almost everybody gave it a glowing review! Yet its hard to find a fan of the old that game wasnt furious about the sequel, they might call him "Fanboy" and "Retroist" but still there was that was loved in Deus Ex that wasnt there in Deus Ex 2, things that can be specified and justified. Even the new developers in Deus Ex 3 recognizes these claims(even thought they are about to make some new mistakes that will water it down as an RPG).
I'm afraid that there isnt enough factors to justify variation business wise...i hope there will be. There are games like Civilization, baldurs gate and neverwinter nights, which respectively earned their over 4, 2 and 3 million sold units. And that should be enough to prove that its justifiable, but every large developer are busy shoving their dicks into the door at the same time, trying to copy the mechanics that sold over 10 million units.
Really should get this sort of warning...people need to stop thinking that they were the best and the brightest of human civilization, since they made shit up that impeeded alot of human scientific endevours.
OH BOY! Someone been browsing thereligionofpeace.com
Taqiyya is pretty clear it shall be used under lifethreatning situation, but suddenly AKP and the entire electorate is under a grand conspiracy to fool the entire nation?
Oh, and you should read up on the history, Taqiyya doctrine was formed for Shias as a result of Sunni persecution.
If someone holds a gun at me and says he's gonna kill all atheists you would be sure id yell "PRAISE JESUS".
Refugee, REFUGEES! There are many reasons for the flight, but the two biggest factors were getting out conflict zone and the fear of Israeli authority, which at that point were well grounded. 45% of the Palestinians would fall under the state that would not give them equal rights, a royal fuckup by the UN. Combined with the Deir Yasin massacre that had a purpuse to put the fear in the Arab population. They fled, from their HOMES, THEIR! HOMES! not some vague rhetorical nationalist bullshit borders, but THEIR HOMES!
Which they were not allowed to return to.
The Arabs in the surrounding countries have their share of the blame for the refugee crisis, but so can it be said for every country on earth.
Nobody wants to take in several hundred thousands of refugees.
I've heard the same idea regarding Centralia, but i dont think its the most sound idea to construct an entire powerplant with boilers over an minefire.
Oh...There's a blogspot.xxx already?
There is none in Norway actually...
But still we got tons of individual coffe houses and we are the biggest coffe drinkers in the world per capita.
Might have something todo with the fact that our baristas dont got snot colored aprons.
Not to mention this might be an extremely expensive operation, only afforded to the rich...which means....that i..have AN EXTRA INCENTIVE IN LIFE!
*puff puff puff* GO GO GO *puff puff puff*
TROLL?! Are you fucking KIDDING ME!
THANKS ALOT!

You mean owners of long since broken down, warranty expired, 1st generation iPods...
OH! sorry...*blerg* you said iPhone not iPod...my bad...i thought that sounded weird considering the topic...
Ok, let me reiterate;
You mean owners of soon to be broken down, warranty expired, 1st generation iPhones.
Whether you agree to be put under slavery or not its still a pretty shitty gig that you should avoid by any standard.
*before someone have to ask; no I don't think buying Apple products is on the same level as voluntary slavery.
"Wouldnt a mochafrapparasberrychino hit the spot right now? Lucky for you there is a starbucks only two blocks away!"
I take back what i said about Apple, they do know how to innovate.
