    No one seems to have considered in thier comments about *why* we like it mixed up.

    I think it is about contrast. If you listen to a single artist, the songs, no matter how diverse, start to sound alike. This is because artists have a =sound=. If they didn't, they would probably not be popular. It's not a bad thing, but it's better when contratsted with other 'sound's.

    Monotony bores us and we start ignoring the content. It's not about short attention span, I mean it entertainment, right?

    It seems kindof odd that a computer super expert would be able to discuss usability issues with any sort of authority. The simple fact thay they know computer systems so well makes them prejudicial to being human interaction specialists.

    Well, actually, it prevents you from getting any sun-induced UV rays, so yea, I have never gotten a sunburn from those hours of IRC and coding.

    -And- the video drivers suck under windows. There are serious problems with NWN, and I had to manually install them instead of using the installer because there was a 'fatal error' (fucking lazy programmers won't even tell me what so I can fix the problem)

    Blea, I'm never buying any ATI stuff again.

    They also reported a loud, growling noise inside the space station. It turned out to be a broken gyroscope that was commanded to spin down and then shut down. One of the bearings apparently seized up.

    I wonder if they use FDBs like they do in modern HDDs, it seems to me that they wouldn't freeze up that easily.

    Don't forget about that amount of data you store because you -might- want access to some peice that it contains.

    I have loads of data on my machine that I will probably never look at, but it's nice to know it's there.

    Don't forget, the queries are live, so if the state of the system changes (item added/removed/moved) the query changes it's content automagically.

    These groups will start when -you- start them. Become invloved, get a bunch of people together than want this, pool your money, use the free technology available out there to make it happen.
