That would cut into his valuable Ferrari paint-keying schedule, his BMW door-dinging plans, and his relentless campeign of burning of all landscaping within 10 miles of his house that looks better than cement painted green with a pink flamingo sticking out of it. Because it's his world - and we're just living in it. Those cops are a nuisance too these days probably. Perhaps he can have some "words" with them!
Yeah - show THEM a thing or two. Fuck them until their ear's pop. YEAAAAaaaa! Right in front of Judge Judy. YEeeeeeaaaaaaaaaa.

"The way the film is fed from the platter to the projector is not unlike an eight-track audio cartridge. Film is unwound from the center of the platter through a mechanism called a "brain" which controls the speed of the platter's rotation so that it matches the speed of the film as it is fed to the projector. The film winds through a series of rollers from the platter stack to the projector, through the projector, through another series of rollers back to the platter stack, and then onto the platter serving as the take-up reel."
"The endless loop tape concept, too, continues to be used in modern cinema movie projectors, although in that application the spool is actively rotated and not drawn by tension on the film."
But I've never worked at a cinema and the last movie glitch I got fee popcorn coupons was because the sound board on the digital media player failed. Whatever media that was.
I was pointing out that neither company holds much sway these days. One's a flaming car wreck financially, the other one - um - isn't really up to much outside of Deutschland. Neither means much in the United States, which - oddly enough - is where both companies were based for a time. Come to think of it both horses look kind of Gray.

That's REAL revenue baby! Eyeballs - look at all those eyeballs! HA - take that Google!
Before you write a 9 paragraph essay claiming Atari was the best or Amiga was the best, let's look at the companies today.
Their both European held brands that have nothing to do with their origonal companies - except Atari. It's about to be delisted from NASDAQ. And perhaps Commodore because they're still not in American markets so they're dead to most of the origonal user base.
Apart from that - you can now slam your head against your monitor because it's now going to fill up with retro-flame wars that only applied to nerds in the late 80s.
It's interesting that you mentioned Microsoft's losses in the other markets (I'd have to do digging but certainly their appsuite and OS business are their only real revenue draws). I worked for Quark for a time, and watched them try to break out of their associated market with QuarkImmedia and an aborted Photoshop clone (never got out of the lab). I wonder how long Microsoft can sustain those kinds of losses in front of investors before they cry foul and Microsoft's cap drops. Investors are highly fickle and if they got the idea that Microsoft was a one-hit wonder, it'd be dramatic. I don't think carrying another mega-loss project would help them maintain a power-position with Wall Street.
Atari loses 500 million in 1983, and Warner panics and promptly dumps the division. Even adjusted for inflation, Microsoft is losing more than this and are sticking it out? Amazing times.
re:"Please. I'd curb stomp any Apple fanboi who'd even dare to look at to me"
Clever. Making death threats on a death-threat thread (say it fast while drunk! s'fun!). Only in America I guess. Which is doubly confusing considering that we're heavily armed as societies go.
I can confirm the drama queen thing. I ran a blog (before they called them that) back in the 90s called "the apple doomsday clock". It was basically a writing exercise and thought experiment to needle the fanboys and see how deep that hole went. Pretty damn deep! I even had crank calls coming in.
I particularly liked doing it because I felt that if you really wanted to critque apple you had to be a user of their stuff - and from using it in the design field to working at Quark I felt I had that card covered. I didn't become a fanboy of their stuff again until Jobs folded NeXT into the product. This wasn't a minor deal for me since I owned a NeXTstation and thought it was the best platform I'd used (and I'd used ALL of them short of any mainframe material). The design quality getting better was also a bonus. Some of the turdboxes Apple produced in the early 90s were an utter blight on the desktop. Like the LC580 - my GOD that was ugly...
To avoid the annoying ads - dont click on the store button. There - my work here is done. Let me know if there's any other computer issues you have like that pesky drink holder tray that won't hold your big gulp.
True, but the PSP screen is lower rez. That combined with the fact that memory stick movies can't be played at native resolution so you're picture is even less rez than what it's capable of. Sharpness means I can stuff more movie in a smaller space and enjoy it just as much. Plus the smaller screen of the iPhone is always with me - whereas the PSP is "occasionally" with me.
Isn't it time we start getting some low gravity modules developed and start putting them to good use? how hard is it to make a module that spins anyway?
I liked SSX for the PS2 at launch but - yes. I decided to save my money until compelling games came out. The Wii is light but Zelda is biding my time until Resident Evil comes out. I was waiting for GTA4 and MOH Airborne for the PS3. No rush happening for either I noticed with the latest EA pushback. I'm really suprised that it's taken more than 2 years and the 360 is still full of hardware bugs. That's a shocker for me!

oookay - that would be a two platter system (although my brain is trying to figure out how you ran the film in reverse - showing the movie forward).
I'm referring to the single platter systems mentioned:

"The way the film is fed from the platter to the projector is not unlike an eight-track audio cartridge. Film is unwound from the center of the platter through a mechanism called a "brain" which controls the speed of the platter's rotation so that it matches the speed of the film as it is fed to the projector. Which was also touched on at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8-track_cartridge
"The endless loop tape concept, too, continues to be used in modern cinema movie projectors, although in that application the spool is actively rotated and not drawn by tension on the film."

In fact, it's one hell of a risk.

Just because scientologists aren't liked in Germany doesn't mean you get to use Godwin's law.
Personally I think anyone responsible for the movie Battlefield Earth is deserving of a Numberg trial hot-seat.
Sorry - here's pretty much the only occasion it can be ignored:

Everything else is shrill knuckle-dragging baiting.
So how many posts does it take to reach Godwin's law?
Looks like around 6.
Yeah skoolz! LOL rofl and bioches!

Frame rate sure. Resolution? Tons. Freeze frame both and you can see the difference. That's the point.
re:" Mario Party may be the eighth in the series, but the gameplay is entirely different from all of the previous iterations"
You're right - Mario Party 8 is different - it's terrible.
I thought the point was that you had a mouse problem.

re:"The RAZR, for instance, was about $300 when it came out...one year later, it was $99"
No it wasn't. It cost a bit more than that. If you consider more than 2x the figure you cited "a bit".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Razr
"The phone was initially regarded as an exclusive fashion phone,[1] with a high price of $500 with service agreement and $800 without."
This is also why S. Balmer was throwing chairs when he soundbit that the iPhone was the most expensive cell ever.
