    It is an editorial and as such an oppion piece. I seriously doubt you can copyright your own opion to prevent others from fully quoting it.

    OTOH. There has been a generel trend of making full copys articles from NYT in slashdot posts. While convinent I find it slightly immoral.

    Mass is energy.

    (btw, unlike what most people believe this is only true for "static" objects)

    So define mass as m = E/c2

    We can already define energy as the energy required to release an electron from a hydrogen atom.

    It would certainly lower their competiveness against Open Source, so they focus on their prime busines: Making better software. Instead of helping the hardware people.

    Increasing for new products, decreasing at for a product like The Sims. (People are happy, they will buy just about anything "The Sims").

    Not much different from other professions. I am sure the first Harry Poter book was way harder to write than number 3 and 4. At some point they just write themselves, and people will buy it even though it is basically still the same story it just expands the univers they like, and like to stay in. (Other good examples are TV-series, they never really change, so the pilot is most expensive episode)

    What do you mean or? The answer to both question is yes. It is wrong, but whose in power do what they want.

    The danish government did a similiar thing back in the spring, they even admited openly they have cut down on review-boards that they considered too "lefty". This is the problem with government with a too stable majority; noone to oppose them.

    This problem only exists because they try to hype the market with a product that they cant have, but can hear bits of on the radio and see reviews of.

    This is very cool stuff, except the name: Kroupware, sounds a bit like "kraut"ware; not the best association for a piece of software contracted by the german government.

    The authors though said it wasnt likely to be the final name, just a temporary one so they dont have to waste time coming up with one before starting the coding.

    btw. The subject of this post is also the title for Dilbert episode, emphesizing the importence of getting started over getting a name.

    It is not Denmark either then. Our last government also sold our Telecom to an American investor. But they sold it for less than the copper connections alone is worth if sold as scrap.

    Sort of like: Look we can do it!! You said socialists cant privitize. Look at us we at privitizing!!

    No it means that NA is a lot richer on average. I would guess Europe or North Europe at least, would still be more tech savvy, because we have more education in average. (And less poverty: Finland, Denmark and Sweden keeps taking turns at being the country with the highest computer penetration. In Denmark 94% of all homes have computers. To compare the US has a poverty rate of 20%, that is 20% can't afford basic living expenses and much less a computer)

    Am I the only one thinking that we need a "Qt 3D/Game Technology"?

    Using this they would not even need to announce Mac and Linux versions, they would just be a natural byproduct of the Windows version.

    Actually the letters are reversed too in Internet Explorer.

    I guess the Linux browsers have never considered asking for the fonts reversed.

    One suggested is was lack of fonts, but why would we need a new symbol for a simple mirror of a font? (Qt can mirror any text completly including the font)

    If the water rose a couple of meters. Most of Denmark would cease to exist (the same would happen to the netherlands), the lack of electricity would be the least of our problems.

    The highest point in Denmark is the top of pillars for the Great Belt Bridge. The highest natural point is a hill 220meters above sealevel.

    Btw. the largest wind mills are now a 100 meters tall.

    Hmm not significantly smaller than LA, but certainly smaller. (note: double of triple is not significant. In Europe we divide countries into small ones, large ones and city states. The large ones are 40-80 million people, the small ones 4-10 million, and city states 40.000-100.000 people)

    But try finding _one_ american state that has that kind of ambitions. There are lots of states in the US that is smaller than Denmark.

    I could be wrong, but I just saw most of first season for the first time. I would say that your statement is only true for the second half of the first season; her attributes like those of Dana Scully seemed to grow steadily through most of the first season, and reached their current size at the time sexual tension between Crithon and her was first implied(flax).

    Seems the producers starts with just hiring actresses, and then when the scriptwriters needs them to be sexy, they are "boosted". Possible just by adding more lift and padding.

    Not quite right. THESE result have been reproduced a lot of times. But similiar studies have been made to test if EM has the same effect on humans. Some of these human studies have proven the same effect, some have disproven them. This is where the controversy lies, but that mobile phones are bad for rats have been proven beyond any reasonable doubt.

    Because liquid nitrogen is cheap and abundant, and any physics research facility has loads of it lying about. At my institute we use it for freezing drinks for parties (yes, freezing the drinks not cooling them). Besides it is very safe to handle, you can even put it in your mouth.

    Individual politicians don't have campaign ads in most countries for a simple reason, the TV systems are national, the coverage areas are too large to be used for an individual politician's campaign.

    That and the fact that it is illegal most places. The only places where I have heard of political TV ads are the US, Iraque and North Korea, all run the by oppresive dictators...
