True, but one of my jobs is to create installation programs. If I can get it to work on a VM image than I'm fairly certain that it will work on the real system, and the turnaround time on a VM system is orders of magnitude faster than cleaning up a live machine.
We generally have actual systems for the testing group and VM for the engineers. That way the few times there is an important difference do not slip by the people working on things don't have to spend all of their time re-imaging computers.
How about using VMWare to make sure you are not doing something decidedly stupid. I have VMWare images of every platform our software supports. I can easily verify that everything works as advertised without running all over the place snagging time on different machines. And if I encounter an issue on a particular setup, I can save a snapshot for later or restore the machine to it's pre-install state and try again.
The idea is to have the virtual machine be about as powerful as the production machine. Since the developer doing their normal development in addition to hosting the VM system, they need a beefier machine to handle it all.
Actually the main purpose is a cost plus fixed profits contract for the weapons manufacturer. Even if no one ever dies on either side of the gun, it's still a success to them.
Not really. Then all the companies in question have to do is bribe a few well placed townsfolk/city officials with jobs at the mine. This works out even easier than letting the decision reside at the state level, because nobody really cares what goes on in South Bumfuck as long as they stay out of my neighborhood.
I agree. You think geeks dislike how they are portrayed, ask a lumberman about Axe Men. I have family and in-laws who both cut lumber for a living, and mentioning that show is sure to get an interesting reaction.
So we are unlimited except for throttling and undocumented caps ? Sounds like a rather brain dead interpretation of unlimited to me. Which ISP do you happen to work for?
Exactly. One of the main purpose of the scrum master is to see that any roadblocks interfering with the groups tasks get resolved. Ad any place where I've worked, that is also one of the main jobs of the project manager.
Considering the risk of heart surgery on a 100 year old and the pain of recovery (assuming the entire statement isn't another total lie), I'd have to see the person's medical history before deciding on this one. But then again, I'm interested in reality, something an embarrassment like you is not.
My wife used to work for a place like this. Mechanical engineers using systems so old that it tool five minutes to do a full screen refresh, yet the management always had the latest shinny systems. Near the end, IT resorted to ordering the management systems loaded beyond even what was asked for and then pulling the components out of the boxes and upgrading the engineering systems on the sly. The point hairs never noticed that their minesweeper games were running slower, and the CAD people were able to actually get work done.
They only have a limited number of chances to throw someone off of the jury without cause (being too smart to fool is not considered a reasonable cause). I work in a high-tech area and the jury pool always get a high number of engineers. Every time I've been selected early, I've been excused. The only times I was kept on the pool was when I was selected to fill in for a person who was excused.
It was funny that when there were a lot of engineers on the jury, the case would more likely than not be settled before things went to trial. It's almost like one side or the other was hoping for a gullible jury and decided not to risk it when they was who was on the panel.
Well said. I only block ads that are obtrusive like that. I've actually purchased thousands of dollars of services for my company based on an ad in Opera, so I actually find a lot of them useful. However, if you pop up a window over what I'm trying to read or start up sound clips when I'm browsing late at night, then you get your ads blocked.
Worse yet are places that don't even have an eating area. I already spend a minimum of eight hours a day in my cubical. It would be nice to get out a little.
Considering the size of the earth relative to the size of any windmill farms, I seriously doubt we could ever extract a significant amount of the available energy.
The state tax would only apply to miles that are actually driven in the state. It's rather hard to get an odometer to take this into account. In a state like Oregon where the main population center is right along the state line, the amount of out-of-state driving can be significant.
The one problem with this is what do you do when the computer does not believe there is a fault condition. Computers are notorious for not listening to people's opinions.
I see you've taken to trying the usual blame the victim and dirty foreigners attacks. Don't you think you could try thinking a little bit instead of cutting and pasting from some right wing rag.
For one thing, try a little search and you will find a lot of people go to other countries because the simply cannot afford treatment here, unless you are going to try to claim with a straight face that India is so much better than the US at hip surgery.
You might also want to actually ask some Canadians about their insurance. Granted they are foreigners in your eyes, but most of them actually speak English, and would be willing to set you straight.
I don't see how even the most warped neocon can consider the invasion of Iraq based on lies in order to seize their oil and help shrub pretend he's a man in the eyes of his daddy can be considered common defense.
Then again, reality seems to be a more leftist concept.

Jamie wants BIG boom!!
The guy's name is General Failure. I've noticed him reading my hard drive on occasion.

Except that studies have consistently shown that this claim is false. Hands free sets are little better than talking on the phone itself.
I know what you mean. I would have preferred an open office over all of those cubicles myself.

Sounds like you have managed to combine project managers and product managers. I dealt with that once. Definitely a bad combination.

He didn't get 14 years for stealing from his wife, he got it for not following the judges orders. Judges kind of take offense to that.

If we were going to go the bush way, we'd have to respond by attacking Brazil.
