Immortal would imply that you cannot die. In this instance, even if people were able to sustain life forever, it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone is going to live forever. People take stupid risks and if they were "immortal" they'd probably take dumber risks. So ultimately, only the smartest would survive.
Just run the distortion with opposite paramaters (shrink where you stretched, and stretch where you shrank) and you end up with the original image again.
There are a number of vendors that sell capacitive stylus for the HTC and other Android devices. As long as you can still grasp with your palms, you should be okay.
It's actually all a moot point since there's little to no chance of rescue on Everest.
Agreed, but if they opened up the code, there's more people available to check for mistakes in the code or even worse potential fraud by the company writing the code.
Why does Steve Jobs care how Google markets their phone OS? People who don't know the different between closed and open aren't going to care, and people who already do care probably weren't going to buy an iPhone anyway. It's really as simple as that.
Yes, I think every time that someone says something we don't necessarily agree with - we should all resort to vigilante justice. That will surely add legitimacy to the cause that we support.
Ridiculous. I don't agree with how IP law is implemented, but it doesn't mean I have the right to go and hack someone's site. If you want the laws to change, lobby congress and vote in people who agree with your point of view on this issue. This is basically internet terrorism.
Now if they are using fake profiles and false information to do this, then I see an issue, but as long as they are legitimate accounts, I don't see a problem with it at all.
While I generally agree, you shouldn't accept a friend request if you're not entirely sure you know the person requesting it. This is basically the equivalent of phishing, and whether it’s the US gov't or some royal family member in Ethiopia looking for $1,000 dollars, you should always check where the request is coming from.
I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of Apple. But this is the biggest non-news story ever posted to Slashdot. Basically, Apple is holding an event where they *may* introduce a new release of their operating system and their laptop and desktop lineup is due for a refresh which may or may not happen on Oct 20th. There's absolutely no information in there thats news.
I read a series of the attached articles. A seperate instance upon which the apparent ruling that allows this particular abuse of power said: "On two occasions, agents sneaked into his driveway before dawn to affix the tracking devices to the undercarriage of his Jeep." Can't you at the very least say that this constitutes trespassing or illegal search? I'm shocked that this doesn't violate constitutionally granted freedoms (privacy, illegal search, etc.)
You'd think with how much their actual distribution is probably suffering they'd decide to pick up a new distribution model instead of using one from the late 90's. I'm sure they're probably (or at least should be) cleaning up on advertisements.

In that case, I am in favor of minimal shrinkage.
This article makes a great point... if you assume this demographic actually voted in meaningful numbers.
Really? I hate IE as much as the next web developer, but I don't think it needs to be saved. Seems like its doing well enough already.

you had me up until MadCow
Imagine the roaming charges on that call...
GREAT SCOTT!
She's probably just shocked that she looks nothing like what she looked like in the first movie.

Sure they do... but only when the UN agrees with them.
Good call... might also have to ban them from cell phones, radios, microwaves, and just about anything else that requires electricity.
Thank you, recursive merge sort project.
That's good and all but Bubble Sort FTW!
For some reason, I read that as "Bjarne Stroustrup Comments On 25 Years of C++".
// I had a reply all set to go...

So basically....
Government: Hey, can we spy on you?
You: Sure, friend request accepted.
If you're being spyed on, its pretty much your fault. Its like giving the police access to your home and saying "Hey, come in whenever you want."

... my dog listens to a lot of emo and hangs out at the mall!
Agreed, the only part that's troubling is that none of this required a warrant. If they had an issued warrant, I wouldn't care.

Even better... if it would take words like "a" in it and replace them with some of the blocked words.
So if someone steals my phone they not only have my phone, they now have my facebook account. Great job Facebook!
