  1. No woman felt comfortable working around James Damore after he wrote what he wrote so they fired him. Makes sense to me unless he was more skilled than all of them combined. Itâ(TM)s just business sense. He stupidly brought it on himself, by his own actions he made women get creeped out by him.

This has nothing to do with whether what he wrote was right or wrong. It made zero sense from a productivity standpoint to keep him hired.

What did he expect Google to do? They had no choice. Keeping him as an employee would have reduced their profitability.

  2. If it doesn't have any of those things it oughta be cheaper .. am I right? Or is it like diet food where they give you less and charge you more for it?

  4. It would be nice to make money, I said money wasnt the sole or even greatest reason. I do believe in capitalism you know. By your assertion, if Microsoft were to get into a highly profitable human trafficking business none of the shareholders would want to get out of it (assuming the profitability/legal ramifications were not in question).

  5. Sarcastic enough? Let me ask you this then, why do people beg for loans more than loan sharks beg you to take a loan?

Obviously Microsoft is offering better loan terms or loans to higher risk people than a bank would provide. Is it charitable to take a chance on people, I think yes in many circumstances.

Not all shareholders have a goal of making maximal profit. Why is it assumed that the sole reason for owning shares in a company is to see financial returns. For example, I invest in Tesla not wanting much of it back but rather to see people get affordable electric cars and to dramatically reduce the 40,000 people killed in traffic accidents by enabling autonomous vehicles. Making a difference like that to me is more important than making money.

Investing in anything has a risk/probabilistic component. Therefore it is a form of gambling. Well isnâ(TM)t it?

And donâ(TM)t retort with BS that playing blackjack online is 100% luck based .. it isnâ(TM)t. I mean, let me know randomly how clicking âoehit meâ for everything works out. All gambling takes some amount of skill to improve your odds.

The two are related, if you cannot insult someone. Nearly all free speech is bound to make someone feel bad. If you say you got bad customer service, the service agent will feel bad. Nearly all speech will make somebody feel bad.

It might get solved with electric self driving RVs maybe? I mean work in Palo Alto and commute to Gilroy or some place like that? Who cares if it takes an hour .. self driving and costs nothing if you recharge via solar panels at your home (all new homes in CA from 2019 on are required to have solar panels).

  16. Except the founders of some of our best tech companies came from welfare or refugee families. In other words, if say we didnt allow Steve Jobs biological dad into the country because he was muslim we wouldnt have Apple.
