Yes a lesson from youtube in over compressed grainy video that loses all detail, and generally winds up with the audio out of sync. This is a fantastic place to host video. Everyone should do it like that. it can be just like 2000 again, and we can pretend that over 50% are still running dial up.

75*.05 = 3.75 Which means you feel at most only 4 movies off that list are going to see the light of day? There are 2 xmen movies, spiderman, superman, captain america, iron man 2, pretty much all guaranteed. You forget marvel is taking a shotgun approach to comic book movies, they're basically going to make everything and whatever is profitable gets made in to a sequel. From this list I would say a good 15-20% are more or less "guaranteed" to show up in theatre, as its very unlikely that marvel will cancel anything and DC has to play some catch-up. Yes, they had a massive hit with dark night, but one major victory against all the smaller marvel little ones only holds up so long.
They should also demand that they don't just download.5% from the student either. They should demonstrate that they actually got a working copy of the song from that individual student.
I would say the chances would be the same as any other random cards end up being dealt to one person. We always talk about how "rare" it is for a specific hand to be dealt out of a deck, but in reality its just as likely as getting any other 5 cards dealt to you. Its just the ridiculous high number of combinations available for a deck make it seem like they're rare. You have just as much chance of being dealt a royal flush as you do any other specific 5 cards. Its just that there are more combinations of 5 random cards than a royal flush.
I was probably one of the last graduate classes to come out of high school in the time just before email took off. Email probably became quite popular 1-2 years after I graduated and finding people from those graduate years is much easier than finding myself. For our reunion 1.5 years ago we only managed to contact about 50% of our class, the rest are completely off the grid. No one talks to them anymore, and they have no web presence that anyone can find. Girls obviously being much harder than guys, but still plenty of missing guys. Some of the younger generations take that for advantage. Any class graduating now could probably expect 100% contact for a reunion except in the case of someone passing away or a stray amish kid.
you're still going to get 99% of the game for the $50-$60 you just paid...
just that 1% that costs another $40 will be stuff for hardcore serious gamers.. you know..things like menu screens and that little bit of code that says send everything to the primary video device..
the difference here is if there was a mistake on a wikipedia page you see the fix now. If you stumble across an old magazine that had a print error you don't necessarily have the page 400 font size 3 correction printed 6 issues later laying beside it..
How much use will they be? (the following is based on my loose understanding of Canadian law and may not apply to American law) A lot of entry level PC jobs are in retail shops (mom & pops, best buy, etc) Generally to work in a retail place you have to handle money and therefore be bondable if you have a criminal record you're not bondable
About the only chance they'd have is to open a shop of their own, but with what money? Working at anything above a retail shop would generally require a degree and an explanation of where you've been for the last 2-10 years..
I suppose they're good for their own personal interest, but a lot of people are making comments along the lines of "this would help them learn a skill for a job"
Let's not forget the prisoners who may have been convicted of a computer crime (which generally means they're computer savvy, but not necessarily) and may not be allowed near computers for x years after release or their entire life.
Too bad you couldn't search somewhere by developer and/or publisher and see how their recent releases are doing. I don't think Atari has released anything that stellar. ever.
don't do it for 6 months... tell your boss you're helping him with his study... you expect to be paid because that is what he asked for. After 6 months go back to work and see what a mess things are and how many problems people are having. After you talk the secretary down off the roof, and release the guys from accounting from the storage closet, tell your boss you deserve a huge raise.
It appears that the helpful hint has been purged. it is interesting that this had to be included in the summary because the rest of the world saw this story on their news site when it was actually news and fresh several days ago.
I'm not sure what your point is. You suggest people get a pandora instead of a DS because the DS didn't really evolve that much. I pointed out that most people don't care that much about things like homebrew, independent developers and things like evolution as much as they care about playing the popular and current games. I never said developers shouldn't use those platforms to jump on to DS or PSP, but don't expect the majority of people to suddenly switch to a pandora because the DS didn't evolve enough for you.
well because this article is about pocket sized handhelds.. as for PDAs, the majority of people don't buy PDAs to play games (or anything other than solitaire on the train). They typically buy PDAs for work. The difference also is that any shareware for any PDA isn't remotely as popular as some of the games for the DS and PSP. They're two different classes of items and the pandora isn't a viable choice for the majority of people because they want to play the current games now.
the masses don't really care about emulators as well. Yes homebrew and emulator scenes are thriving, but of the millions and millions of DSs sold how many of those people do you really think actually care about either of those 2 things, probably not the majority or we'd hear a lot more about it and the scenes would be ridiculously huge. So back catalogs of games don't really mean anything to them. The majority of them want to play the current games now.
maybe you should quote the whole post, like the part where I was specifically talking about handhelds..its easy to quote out of context and give an example completely contradictory to the point I was making. But thanks for coming out. Neither the PC nor Newgrounds is for a handheld like the PSP or DS.
I usually don't feel the need to whip out my laptop on the subway. but given that my music collection is only around 8 GB and there are 80 GB ipods I could take my whole collection yes, but I don't listen to music on transit either. The difference is you can play 1 game for an hour.. but if you listen to the same song for an hour you'll drive yourself crazy.
if you can't narrow your choices for the train/vacation down to 8 you're too damn indecisive and frankly you're spending too much time on a vacation playing video games. They're just as safe as my laptop in my bag, so if I'm worried about the CDs in that situation I probably shouldn't bring my laptop.
yes it does look a little strange.. I hope they clean that up in the months leading up to their tests they expect in June or July next year.

They lost me at "buckle up"

they have no evidence that what they got from that person is copyright material until they have a working copy...

you've been to my grandma's house at thanksgiving...

please put a few more cliches in what you wrote..

yes because people buy handhelds for the hardware and not the library of games that comes with it... the masses could give a rats ass about homebrew.
but I have twins who are turning 16 this year and they can't share.. they'd be the laughing stock of all their friends..
