    Did you ever actually watch his shows? He was always getting chomped and poked by various dangerous animals. But I don't class getting pierced through the heart with a venomous spear "a good chomp". If that's the sort of thing that makes you "Glad" you are a seriously f*cked up individual.

    I think we should all calm down a bit. JavaScript can make web pages more fun. We should start giving the users more trust and let the emphasis be on them not to put bad ActiveX and JS in their submissions. Who's with me???

    No, at this point it's eminently clear that Iraq was invaded because we knew they didn't have WMD's.
    That's a very good point! Why would you go attack a nation that can launch a WMD on you with 40mins? Even if you were attacking because of a perception of such a threat, surely you'd want to play it safe and not give them a real reason to use it.

    Aha, you've just showed your true geekness! Why use MS Word when you have VI? Using a piece of software to manage your photos would probably be in the top 5 of applications "users" require from a computer.

    I must admit that is a tempting function but what about the turnaround time? Say your customer spots a typo in the web site does that mean you have edit your java source and recompile?

    There's a reason why Exchange is so popular. It's because it does an important job better than anything else. Very few other products - and *nothing* in the OSS world - even comes close.

    If I were starting my own business tomorrow I'd get everyone using Gmail with a google calender! Sure company emails would look a tad unprofessional but weigh that up against the costs of outsourcing your entire email and organisation software plus backups for free and i think you'd be onto a winner.

    and even so it can take years to prove its correctness. It would be impossible to do it with Linus's kernel. I presume time or no formal spec but just out of interest why would it be impossible?
