Well... according to some theories, he was in the White House at the time. Of course I don't believe those theories but I thought I would point it out.
It's pretty standard to give a new project a code name.
I see both of your points though, it isn't very necessary but what if they don't end up calling it anything close to Firefox 3.0. What if they decide to go with a new naming convention by the time the release comes around? They could end up calling it Firefox Revolutions or Firefox Reloaded or... wait - those are Matrix movie names =\.
Well... given fairly equal fighters it does matter how good of a pilot you are. You can have the greatest tools to do something but if you're not good at it you're SOL.
Everyone needs to stop comparing weapons. I believe it's all in the pilot. If you have a good pilot in a MiG, I wouldn't be surprised if he could take either of these next generation fighters. Both of these fighters are great and they almost fly themselves but like I said, it's all about the pilot.
I've had some issues with position relative, though most have been resolved since beta, I've still had a few problems. Other than that - it renders everything similar to Firefox 2.0.

Now I don't have to read "Bush sucks" vs. "Bush is God" when I want to discuss the news article entitled "New Element Discovered."
I don't know if I'll comprehend this one at any time of day.
