Afterall its one of the main reasons they even bothered to update IE (that and threat of Google and Firefox). I can't see them letting XP users get ahold of this before the Vista users, but I expect it to come out for XP like a week or two after Vista gets released.
I have slashback articles marked as don't show, so this isnt in the category "slashback". This isnt the first time its happened. No big deal just figure you guys might want to know:p
What is the benefit of going somewhere else, if we havent really learned the lessons of messing up what we have here? It buys us the human race more time, but it doesn't give us a historical lesson. Although there might not be anyone to learn from it anyway.
Because I have BackSlash marked as "dont display" in my preferences here. So now we have regular slashdot, then backslash and now slashback. Whats next, dotslash?
Seriously, who cares if its not hyped up on the christmas list as the "hot toy". When the battery runs out or the battery cover is lost, they have to improvise with these toys anyway.
I prefer the yahoo ones over MSN's ugly emotes:p so if any do overlap YIM better get the good deal on smilies. I dont like MSN's nudge feature or those Flash based Winks either, although I use Trillian and Gaim so I wont get those anyway;)
Thats the only time brick and mortar stores can beat online prices. If I need something (and it isnt urgent or perishable like food) I get it online. I check Amazon, eBay, Pricewatch, TigerDirect and NewEgg. Even with shipping costs they cant match their prices. I can easily save $10 to $20 or more most times.
Sony Portable Reader and the Jinke Hanlin v2 are other good alternatives soon to be released here is a comparison of them all. I'm personally thinking of getting the Hanlin v2, its got a good price, will come with a SDK, runs Linux and I dont have to worry about Sony's Rootkit or other sneaky stuff they might do.
Thats what it appears to me, they made it "just good enough" for users and didn't care to go much further than that. So I guess we wont see IE8 until they decide to make another OS in maybe 2013? The main reason they updated IE7 is so it would look nice and shiny for Vista. They were nice enough to conform to standards a little better and grab a few ideas from the other browsers, but I doubt they will keep their browser on top of things, they will just plug security holes and leave at that. Yeah, I'm being very skeptical but its not too far from their track record.

So I take it no more improvements will be done? Only bug fixes? So I guess that means no SVG support for sure.
I used to periodically checking up on SkyOS until about 2yrs ago or so when it they announced they were going to be a commercial OS. I dont have anything wrong with them being commericial, it just lost my interest, cuz I'm not going to pay to check something out. I think most people that are into tinkering around with computers or OSes might be into it, just to see what ideas others are up to. I personally think Syllable, ReactOS and Symphony are more likely to take off than SkyOS.
Why is MNG no longer on W3C's website? You all were promoting it for quite awhile but not its no longer there? Are we just supposed to accept flash or SVG (which isnt supported in IE7 beta and unlikely in the final version) for animations with alpha support and JPG like color depth?

This site is useless unless they categorize things. I shouldnt have to search for everything, let users browse also.

All you have to do is watch some of those and it clearly shows why this is happening :p
IE7 beta doesnt support it and I see no indicators they are working on this :(
