"Kids today are out of control" has been a popular adage ever since there have been kids. It isn't any truer today than it was thousands of years ago - it just means your views are getting more conservative. And kids with cell phones is a relatively new phenomenon. Do you actually think kids totally behaved themselves 10 years ago becasue they didn't have phones? Cell phones have nothing to do with it. I never had a cell phone as a child and I guarantee you it never stopped me from getting into trouble.
I don't think anybody claims Photoshop invented photo editing, but nobody can deny that they invented the standard still used to this day for photo editing. Besides, the Russian one shown is just a French program that has been translated, so they didn't "invent" anything either.
Where should the money come from? How about all the huge tax breaks and other financial incentives already given to the ISPs that they were supposed to use to continue building up their infrastructure?
I heard the exact same argument in the 1980s when 3D was coming back then. It did go away fro a while, but I can't help notice that it is back strong now... Pointing out that is isn't "true 3D" isn't going to make it go away any faster this time either. There is no magic involved - as long as a percentage of the population is willing to pay more for 3D movies, they will be here to stay. As soon as not enough people are willing to pay extra anymore is when 3D will truly go away. Say what you want about the technical side of it - the reality is if it makes the studios more money, it isn't going anywhere.
System admins != users - in the sense he is talking about users. He is talking about dumb end users who never do need to use the command line, and do not want to.
And FYI you don't need to run gpudate from a command line unless you need the policy to go into effect immediately. If it is something that doesn't need to go into effect right away, you can just wait until the machine updates the policy on it's own. As for the debugger, just disable it. Does the end user really need to debug anything? Is any useful information gained?
Because everyone else in the world doesn't think exactly like you? Because millions of businesses are already invested in it? Because your opinions do not drive the corporate world to make technology decisions? Is that enough, or do you want some more?
And do you think that in all of history there have been no stupid people who incorporated businesses before? I can guarantee you someone was dumb enough to use "make as much money as possible" at least one time, if not multiple times. Just because you are dumb does not stop you from starting a business. Just because you are smart does not mean your business will be successful.
Exactly. ESXi is a "bare metal" OS meaning it runs natively on the server hardware and not on an OS as an application. ESXi is a breeze to install, and once installed on the server, you can point a web browser at the server and download the client software. They have custom configurations available for most big brands of server hardware as well.
Never? Really? I thought the goal of most corporations was to make as much money as possible. Or are you claiming to have read every single corporation charter that is in existence and zero of them stated the goal was to make as much money as possible?
Or are you possible confusing the term "never" with "not always"?
Just because something is legal doesn't make it right, ethical, fair or honest. Sorry but setting up dummy corporations in foreign countries that you don't actually conduct the majority (or any) of your business in should be illegal, or should be hit with taxes and fines so high it makes them unattractive. And now, let us wonder for a moment, who are the ones trying to keep that loophole open? Hint: it isn't the middle class, poor, or anyone making less than $250K per year.
Because it seems every time there are tax cuts, they somehow benefit the people (or corporations) making the largest amounts of money the most. See "trickle down economics" or "voodoo economics". The middle class pay the greatest percentage of their income to taxes. The ultra-rich generally pay very little, unless they are honest.
I am not sure what you mean by "rejection", becasue pre and post Ashley Simpson a lot of acts are still doing the old "portions of this performance may be pre-recorded". Personally I rejected this notion a long time ago, but plenty of people still don't care in the US. If I go to a "live" performance, I kind of want to see a live performance. Apparently the Hannah Montana crowd doesn't really mind though.
How can you go wrong with Damon Albarn from Blur, and half of the Clash as the band? They just played here last weekend and put on a great live show. This is the first tour that you could actually see the real musicians playing - they weren't behind screens with their animated characters only showing.
Yeah, but when the maniacs have something as deadly as soap bubbles, well all bets are off. A man has got to do what a man has got to do to protect society from bubbles. I don't like to use the term hero lightly, but in this case...

Yes, but at least I can still get excited by reality. It is really sad when the only thing that gets you off anymore is a blue haired tentacled chick.
And then they make Daikatana and discover nobody really did want that game.

But my Top tobacco always tastes better when I smoke it out of a $300 glass pipe!
Well, you can snort or smoke heroin too. Note: I am not recommending it though.
You mean like mainframes and terminals? Yeah, I think that has been tried before.

Ok smartass pedant, the wealthy seem to enjoy a disproportionate benefit from tax cuts than the middle class do.
Hush.

Ralph Nader - uninteresting at any speed.

How is it much different from people paying to see pre-recorded lip synching or an entire set done with the aid of an autotuner?

Magic? No, computers run on magical smoke. I know because I have seen the magical smoke come out of computers before, and after that they do not work.
