    No they would not. People are sheep, all they see is this cool thing, and they want it and want it now, don't care how it works, why it works, consequences or whatever. It is this reason - thees people, why the "Our Government of Corpocracy" are successfully and slowly eroding our privacy, our rights, and our freedoms.
    They say if you put a frog in boiling water, it will jump out. But if you put him in water and slowly raise the temperature, it will slowly cook itself... We are the frogs! When I told a friend of mine about ISP's monitoring your traffic, he said. "Oh well". I then asked him if I could get on his WLAN and monitor his traffic, (which is wide open by the way) and he said sure. ok that does not bother me do whatever you want. Baaaaaa! Sheep!

    I think their track record in the tablet/mobile market speaks for itself. I don't think they have what it takes.

    They are convinced that PC's laptops and desktops, won't be around long in the consumer market, so why bother placating to that crowd. Perhaps they feel if the do this crap it will hurry the demise of the PC and won't have to worry about that platform. They are shooting themselves in the foot.

    For now, but our pressure will cause every country to cave. Just a matter of time. We wont learn to deal with anything, they will learn that you can't win when the US entertainment industry wants something. If they can control our government, they will control yours too.

    They do a good job of it in China. Just a matter of time when it happens here. The next logical step for them is to make encryption illegal. We will be well on our way to the internet being a one way form of communication, just like TV.

    Most electrical systems will only work on the frequency they are designed for except perhaps a switching power supply because its rectified and filtered anyhow. However for an ac induction motor even a 1Hz difference will cause them to overheat. In fact your power does not even drift much more than +/- .2 Hz and the entire grid is in sync.

    It's not that simple because Japan has the additional problem that some of the country uses 60Hz like here in the us and some places use 50Hz like in europe.
