The full name for SQL Server (MSSQL) is Microsoft® SQL Server. It's just shortened by most of the tech community both internally and externally of Microsoft.
Also remember that US$99/year is for developmer support (albeit forum support) as well, and includes development beta builds of upcoming version of MacOS X.
It's still (much) cheaper than an MSDN subscription.

10.6 was released in late 2009, not 2008.
One year's of no updates appears much less stagnant than 2 years.
But the problem is, that if Apple releases updates every year or year and a half, people complain about costs of upgrades. If Apple waits too long to release an update everyone thinks that the sky is falling and MacOS is DYING. (Oh NOES!)
I tried such a project almost a year ago to get people interested in and working on such a system, but I've both lost free time to work on it, and I've not seen any interest over the Internet.
I know I'll be modded down for mentioning this: Why are the Klingons the only species in the whole movie series that the "Universal Translator" didn't automatically translate to both the audience and the characters while not in private conversation at home planet (i.e. TMP's Spock's failture scene)?
It should be all or nothing. Romulans should speak Romulan, Vulcans speak Vulcan (unless speaking Starfleet English) due to the technomagical universal translator.

Nah, it's an effect of the Aether pushing against the hull.... I'm bringing it back!
I'd be happy with something as simple as SPIN GRAVITY on the ISS.

NTFS has had Symbolic Links built into the file system for years.... it's just unsupported in the default installation of windows.
You can download junction.exe (the NTFS version of ln) from Microsoft's Technet.
