With our current adimistration their position is to protect corporate profits first. The fees are low so I'm more concerned with control and why there's no competition for the contract. If there's a disaster the work goes to Haliburton and anything dealing with web domains goes to Verisign. This is corporate government and not a free market system.
Personally I'd rather see that money put towards fixing the Hubble telescope or extending the mars rover mission than fixing damage that some hacker did.
Why does this sound familiar? I say Vista be renamed Pussy Cat. Future upgrades can be named Tabby, Manx and Burmese since Apple is already using big cat names. Why is it if Windows is so fundimentally superior does it as the years go by get more like Mac? This is from a primarily Windows user. Just seems like Windows is stuck in the rut of trying to catch up with what it considers an inferior OS. Mac isn't perfect but when it comes to involvation and stability there really is no way to compare the two. The biggest downsides I keep finding are more related to vendor support. If they could ever grab 25% of the market share that would disappear. So long as they stay below 10% most vendors aren't going to see it as worth supporting. There's a lot more on Mac than ever before but there's an ocean of software availible on Windows.
What about chipping sex offenders so that schools and playgrounds can have detection equipment? It would also prevent sex offenders from getting jobs as bloody teachers. Most sex offenders commit the crime again. If they are on the street they should have limited rights and being chipped as a condition of release is very reasonable.
I've heard this theory before but from what I know the mix they are talking about it isn't nearly as strong as regular limestone. The slower crytalization pattern of natural limestone gives it the strength. I question that artifical limestone would be strong enough for even the top layers of a structure that big. Pure limestone isn't concrete. They aren't talking about concrete, that would be obvious if used, they are talking about reclaimed limestone. There are a lot of problems with that theory. Not the least of which is how would the eygptians make that much lime for the stone? You have to heat the lime dust to a very high temperature to break the chemical bonds. It wouldn't be a small undertaking on it's own and would take huge amounts of energy, charcoal essentially. Wood was scarce. There is no other evidence that they made lime concrete so I have serious doubts.
Why not do something useful with your life?

Patch the holes rather than expoiting them. I know the whole chaos mentality but I can't see the difference between viruses and taking destructive advantantage of exploits and setting fires just because you can. Sorry I've been a victim of virus attacks and I'm very careful. Why not do something contructive with your skill and life? I was joking about patching the holes, although it'd be much appreciated, but why not put the energy into writing a challenging program? Destruction is for destructions sake. It's a sad thing when your goal in life is to make millions miserable. You aren't attacking Microsoft half as much as the users. It's an annoyance to Microsoft but it's often devastating to the end user.
Other big markets are publishing, graphic artists and office types in film. Go to any film set and you'll see people with Powerbooks. It's a nitch market with effects but I have known a number of effects companies that were primarily Mac. The irony is Mac seems to attract the high end market and the low end, non computer types, but not the middle so much. A lot of powerful 2D graphics apps run on Mac but other software is dicier. Mac native software is very stable, much more so than PC, but ported software is less so. Also most software still isn't availible for Mac. Older people have fewer needs and if they do gaming they are less demanding. The Intel shift may help the numbers but it's always been a nitch market product.
Microsoft has a strategy for that. They have replaced all their english speaking Indian operators with nonenglish speaking ones. That should drastically cut down on returns.
Vegitales and Barney do far more damage than violent video games. I've never been disturbed by any video game ever but Barney freaks they hell out of me. Could you imagine the damage Vegitales could do if the viewer happened to have just dropped acid? We just need to ban the right things. Overly religious vegitables and purple blob dinosaurs would be at the top of my list. Drunks used to see pink elephants. What do you have to take to see purple dinosaurs? These are dangerous people producing dangerous and disturbing products. They must be stopped!
A car can hold stolen merchandise, so can a handbag. A gun can be used in a hold up. You're telling me we all have to pay, they'll have to up the price of iPods, because some one might abuse them? I'm a firm defender of copyrights but this is just nuts. Making everyone pay is no answer. DRM away but don't make me pay because of what some one else might do. That crosses a massive line and makes me want to boycott Universal products. Not that they have anything I want in the first place which makes it doubly insulting.
For some reason my business email which I rarely use started getting carpet bombed with spam a few weeks ago. I get up to fifty emails a day in the bulk folder and some in the main folder. I'd ignore the bulk folder but since it's primarily for business half the needed emails ends up in the bulk folder and I have accidentally deleted good emails. The odd thing is I have a personal email with the same service that gets maybe half a dozen a day. I rarely give out my business one but they got the address off some site because they are using my screen name in the heading. Definately automated because it's not a normal name. I can't believe nothing is being done about this. Business is loosing hundreds of millions, most estimates are in the billions a year, in time lost dealing with it let alone people that get suckered into the scams. If people were getting fifty phone calls a day from salesmen the issue would get resolved. The joke is more email is sent than phone calls so it's a bigger issue. It may seem like an inconvience but with looses between the scams and lost time running into the billions if not tens of billions a year it should be a priority with the government. In a sense ignoring the loss of life looking at strickly the dollar amounts involved we're talking about several 911s a year and no one is doing anything about it.
I intend to fiercely defend my "On" switch patent. There is nothing obvious about pressing an "On" switch to start a computer as thousands of computer illiterates can attest to. I also plan to defend my plugging computer into wall socket patent. Thousands of other techically challenged have been aided by my patent on this process. My "On" switch patent on monitors is still pending but hopefully that should be approved any day now. It's horrible and unamerican challenging my right to patent everything in sight. Please remember to send me a dollar if you turned your computer on today.
How about "Irritating Ear Attachments"? Most often seen sticking out of the ears of soccer moms in SUVs. Sorry but I drive a small car and I get tired of dodging soccer moms in giant SUVs too busy talking to drive. Long overdue banning talking on a cell and driving. People abuse the priviledge and it's dangerous.
Ah the Japanese version of a Mexican wrestling movie. Even as a kid I was stunned at how silly Ultraman was. If you have to be young at heart I guess I was never that young.
What do they teach these guys? Didn't he ever see a Bond movie? Radioactive sushi? The first beautiful female spy or space based laser cannon this guy ran into he'd have been dead meat. It's a wonder he lived as long as he did.
Seems like the perfect coating for solar panels for hot water. The search has always been for the best heat absorbing surface. This type of coating should be the most efficent coating for heat absorbsion.
HoverRound Racers, edlerly players race around a Walmart on power chairs. Shoppers beware!

Bet you wish you have gone for the Cray laptop now.

Come on, post specifics. With Christmas around the corner we need all the help we can get. Have you seen the prices the new Elmo and P3s go for!

And here I thought heavy metal just made you feel like you being bounced off the ground.
I thought Barney was a parody? Isn't a parody website redudant?

For an extra $3 a month we can tell your creditors to bite you.
For another $5 we can break up with your scary ex for you.
And for an extra $10 a month we can forward your up coming invitation to visit Iraq from your Uncle Sam to an address in Canada.

Silver plated bacteria.... Pretty.

It was designed by the famous Roman programmer Linicus Torivicus.
